Can motion detectors be installed if the car didn't come with them.
Has any one done this.

 

You can and they are available through a variety of sources, however they are unpainted and would need to be painted and drilled into the bumper. A better solution would be the link below. This is a metallic tape that you run along the inside of the bumper. It does the same thing but is completely hidden. It wont be stock in terms of the sound and the PCM being connected but it does work.

yes i had a set of rear parking sensors installed when i did my 997.2 rear conversion... the bumper already had the parking sensors holes.

picked up the set from eBay (i believe they are the same set that the dealer uses if you purchase a car that didnt come equipped with them and you want them installed anyways).

i had mine painted to match the car but i ordered them in blue that imo didnt need to be painted in the first place.

 

Hopefully I am wrong but is OP asking about parking- or car alarm motion sensor?

The parking sensors must be the devices that detect if someone breaks into your car

 

very easy to do/install. you tap into the taillight reverse light so that the rear sensors engage only when you are in reverse.

 

if you tap into the reverse lights then where's the beep sound going to come from.

 

the new parking sensor kit comes with its own speaker... that will get installed in the back of the car interior.

 

Not "someone"...but another car or a tree when backing up.
