Hi Guys - I own a '05 997 C2S Cabrio with 38K. I found a 2012 white 991 Carrera in St. Louis at Isringhausen Imports for 99K but it has 2K miles as the owner has been driving it. They have offered 41K for my car to do the deal. what do you guys think. Payment is $900 for 72 months. I got about 6K invested in my car with a short shifter and a factory exhaust. First of all, the reality is that your investments in mods account for very little ROI.
Secondly, it's a 2012, used, with 2K miles on it. 99k is a little steep.
You're getting ~10% off sticker. Not a good deal at all..
Is this an S or a base model?
PS. PSE is a must...

IMHO it's over priced at 99k.
Once a car is used (regardless of miles), the initial owner takes the depreciation hit. This can be upwards of 10~15%.
If you do a search for "discount" within the 991 forum, you'll see what people are getting off new and used car prices.
The 2013 models are out and being delivered, so I'd aim for a range of $90k-95. You're also in the NE and heading into winter, so I can't imagine that the convertibles are flying off the lot.
Finally, I've never been a fan of people focusing on what the "monthly payment" will be, but rather should focus on the price of the car and then work backwards from there.
Can't help you with your trade-in value, as you'll typically take a hit there. There's always Carmax or a private sale if you'd like a little more for your car, but then you'd paying taxes on the full price new car and not just the difference in your trade-in.

You are absolutley correct on everything you stated. The car was never titled as it was being driven by the owner on dealer plates. I would think now is the time to by a convertible. I really don't know if i should pull the trigger. Thanks for all your advise and taking the time to respond. Greatly appreciated.

WoW Brandon, I don't think there is a chance on god's green earth, thats going to happen. It took me a week to get him to 99K & 41K

I think the build is nice, and 2000 miles would not concern me so much if the car was taken car of. I am curious, my build was 101 without tax, I would consider leasing a new one that you like because if your trade in value still holds, your payment will not change too much and you will get what you want.
I would agree with BrandonH and dux at $90k (I would not have the financing discussion until you have agreed the purchase price) but I would also check the deal you are getting on your trade in. As for PSE, you can get aftermarket PSE, about $5k I believe with install.
Happy hunting!

I got $50K for a 06 C2S Cab with 30,000 miles but it took a month, and, it was still late summer. Plus, I was ordering a 2013 build with an MSRP of $138K. The trade in value seems right. I agree with the comments on the discounts for buying a car with some miles on it - should be more like 15%, minimum. I would worry that the car was used as a demo and therefore not properly broken in. A big deal to some while others discount that factor. With my dealer I just had to say here is the deal, after a month they took it.
