Rear Bumper Removal & Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser
How did you remove the OEM diffuser (valence) panel from the bumper? I have it all loose except for the ends which I can't get loose. I just can't figure out what to do. It actually looks like the OEM diffuser panel is three pieces. The main piece plus two smaller pieces that fit right against the tailpipe openings. Do these need to be removed as well in order to release the valence from the bumper. They seem to be locking it all together.
Any help is appreciated!

The bumper is off. That was no problem. But I am trying to remove the lower black valence ( between the tailpipes) from the bumper. That's where I am stuck.
My intent is to remove it and paint it body color.

but I am considering a similar project, and was curious if you ever received an answer to your question? I don't see anything after your post... or did you just figure-out yourself? Thanks!
Yes, I was able to remove the valence from the bumper by seperating a series of clips and removing rivets holding a metal edge support at the very bottom. Furthermore, I removed the two seperate pieces attached to valence that go over the tailpipes. I painted the valence but left these two pieces black.

Thanks again.
Are you going to paint, or replace with CF?
Having taken the bumper off once, I can say that as far as difficulty of 1-5 I would call it a 2. It's not hard, but a bit cumbersome. I put blue painters tape on the edges of the bumper and also where it mates with he car to help avoid any possibility of scratching. Probably not necessary but I'm a bit OCD with stuff like that. If I had it to do again I could probably get the bumper on the ground in 20 minutes. Removing the valence is quite fiddley and it took me a couple hours of prying and unclipping fasteners making sure I didn't break or scratch anything. Patience pays off with this DIY.
