Retractable License Plate on a PASM car

Good evening everybody.

I currently don't have a front license plate (waiting to get a ticket to see how often they pull me over), but my dealer showed me the retractable remote controlled license plate bracket.

Did anybody fit this in a PASM equipped Carrera S?

I think there may be clearance issues...

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Do you have a link? I too am waiting to get pulled over to get a front plate, I hate the wy it looks. However, I did get a parking ticket today or parking too far from the curb and the nice man added a penalty for not having he front plate.

Had this happen to me in NYC one time ("fix it" ticket + Parking ticket). I just laughed about it. But this was 17 years ago. Now the tickets cost a lot more

I was coming back from the city back to the valley...was in a hurry to catch a meeting...did in excess of 100mph (nothing to be pound of) but for some reason dropped the speed and at the same time got stopped for speeding. The guy was nice enough to let me go yet walked up front and gave me fix it ticket for front plate..that was with my bimmer... I have no intentions of drilling holes and putting front plate on my 991 4S... I got spasm too... It'd be wonderful if there's something like "retractable " license plate...would love to get a link or something...op...pls share...thx

Ha - same thing happened to me. He let me off and gave e a fix-it ticket that cost me $25. I'm now leaving them off my cars.

Has anyone tried printing a full size vinyl sticker of your license plate and using that when needed? It would look better and not require drilling the bumper. Not sure if cops would have an issue with this or not. I'd guess as long as it was just as easy to read it wouldn't be a problem.

There are also the tow hook mounts.

I am too concerned over this. I tried the double sided tape, really won't work. I still have no intentions of drilling my bumper. The tow hook plate won't work because of the sensor. With the ground clearance so low and scraped the underside bumper already, I don't know if this is a good alternative or not.

Has anyone on the forum tried this? Comes either motorized or manual?

My father put one of these on his Ford GT. Though it seems like a great idea, it hasn't been the best to be honest.

The problem with it is that it lowers the clearance of the front bumper by at least .5" at absolutely the worst spot (all the way up front, dead center). Even when the license plate is extended and visible it still has the mounting bracket underneath the bumper. It scrapes all the time on driveways and such. When the plate is folded under it scrapes the face of the plate.

You can see what I mean here:

I'm not looking forward to having them drill my Sport Design front bumper when my car comes in in a few days, but I'm going to have to live with it, I guess.

I've searched long and hard and have yet to find a good solution that works for PASM and parking sensors.
