Just got an update from my dealer...

Porsche was loaded on the boat 11/22 and is scheduled to hit port 12/23 . Thought you might appreciate perhaps a Christmas Gift to yourself! If we are lucky this could happen but you must prepare for it possibly coming in here the first week of January. I imagine the port will be slammed that week and will try everything they can to get all the cars out to the dealers but it could also get jammed up so I just want you prepared for that.

Sounds interesting, no?

 

Just got word that my car arrived at the Port of San Diego on Friday! Dealer said I may pick it up this week or maybe next! Can't wait!

Sounds like your car was a shipmate of mine on the Auriga Leader. It actually docked and unloaded its precious cargo on Thursday the 20th so I also await the call from my dealer that he has the car at hand.

I tracked the ship as much as possible during it's transit and was fortunate enough to catch it coming through the Panama Canal. Here is a capture from the Canal camera as the Auriga Leader with our cars inside passed into the Pacific Ocean the morning of December 9th.

 

That's how this whole thing got started for me, except it was a 928S. It was my favorite Porsche for a long time.
