Welcome, Carraco. I drove a Porsche on the German autobahn from 79-82 and I've got to tell you, I'm jealous. Have a great, safe ride (I've seen some cars that left the autobahn and ended up in fields a long way from the autobahn). Definitely my best tour.

What part of Germany are you located?

Hi,

took some time to get me registered - don't know, just couldn't post any messages. Yes I am the same guy like on pff.

Monday 28th I'll be picking the car up in Zuffenhausen, along with a tour through the production.... Will keep you posted and pictures will follow....

So long!

It just proves to be VERY hard to wait. I would've never imagined someone like me falling back into little boy behaviour. That would be: reading everything about the 911, craving for any video out there, just being generally nervous, boring my wife to death with Porsche stories and features... the like.

I attach a rendered picture from the Porsche code in the configurator. I have received my "personal indivualized quick manual" - don't know if P. sends soemthing like that out in the States as well - and now its just a hard time.

Hahaha welcome to the "drive your wife crazy" club!
It's true about the waiting can do to a grown man... those whom haven't experienced it will never understand, it's just not something you can put into words (although you did a pretty good job of it).

I see you've got a C4S cab on order, I've got the same!
Mine is suppose to roll off the assembly line on Tuesday and then another 4 to 6 weeks for transport... sigh... you're soooooo lucky you're getting yours this month!

At least your misery is almost over (the wife must be happy! ).
Listen pop over to the 991 C4S thread and post up your build.
Our little group therapy session would love to see it.
https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...91-c4s-61.html

And since it's 65 pages that should kill a bit of time while your waiting.
Welcome to 6speed!

Cheers!

Ok, will do that !
How do you get the pictures to be so large ? The photo I uploaded is so small...

How long does it take the car to get to you - 6 weeks ? That's Montreal ? Wow. Thats a long time...

Why don't you guys fetch it in Zuffenhausen, have a trip on the Autobahn, along with a visit to some nice places here, and send the car over after that ?
Isn't that possible - European delivery ?!

Hahaha don't get me started on Euro delivery!
That was precisely the plan however... driving around Europe this time of year in a cab is not ideal, not even along the Cote d'Azure (too much rain).
Not to mention that after having the car for 2+ of weeks of "fun" it would still have to be shipped to Montreal, which according to PCNA Euro Delivery is actually more like 8 weeks when doing Euro delivery...

I put a deposit for my C4S in Feb. 2012... thinking it would be released some time in the late summer 2012 at worst hahaha.
Oh boy was I wrong!!!
Needles to say I want my Porsche sooner rather than later (before I loose my mind...oh... too late ).
No, the 2nd weeks of April would be fine for me... just in time for spring!
Until than I hoping to live vicariously through guys like you... good thing you're here!

I was born and Raised in Holland and am in "Europe" quite often so I'm not missing out but (at least that's what I'm telling myself )... Don't get me wrong I love my 2010 E class diesel in Holland... but it ain't no 911!
Anyway it all works out in the end because I just found out that I can't do any flying for at least 3 months.

Oh yeah re larger pics...
Upload the way you've been doing, then click preview post, then click on the image in the preview window and a new page will pop up with a full size image... click and drag that onto the window where you type your post and it's embedded.
At least that's how I do it.. if it's an image from the internet just drag it from that page and drop it into the text (as above).

Wow, long post

It's tough for us in the United States to wait for our Pcar which we can only use 1/3rd the car's capability. Having driven on the Autobahn, I can appreciate how it will be even harder for you to wait!!
