C2S with ducktail
Just for anyone's info
-
after checking the Porsche configurator, a SportDesign package from the factory (the ducktail and front area) is $4,990 in the US.
I was quoted an estimate of $6275 plus tax for the complete install from the local Porsche dealer after the fact.
So, if you like the ducktail kit..order it from the factory and save roughly $1,300.
After looking at all the options currently available aftermarket-wise and thinking on this a few months..they all seem rather tacky compared to the Porsche aero kits. That's just my opinion, I've heard the opposite a few times also so to each their own. But me, I'm saving up for a Porsche aero kit, I just won't put anything else on my car. If I do anything at all, that is..for 6 grand plus tax savings I am getting to like the powered up and down spoiler a lot more.

I'm confused, you mentioned you do not have SPASM. But do you have PASM? I'm a little confused on the difference of the two, but your car looks lower than non-PASM equipped. Trying to learn.......

is anyone considering putting this rear ducktail on their 991 coupe or cab??

from what i understand it is glue/tape install......which means bye bye paint and dont accidently put up the rear wing under 75 and over 75 ???? it is good looking though IMO

i believe it does for those mortals who want to take it over 165 mph
I like the ducktail a lot and its grown on me but it is a major design step away from the minimalist and clean design of the 991S which I love. The powered spoiler does the job well and by tucking away understates the aggressiveness of the car. That is what I wanted my car to portray... less is more. On the other hand the ducktail beautifully represents the nostalgic past and I can entirely understand why one would choose it. It's all about choices but for the time being I'm content with the clean and simple look.
That is until the GT3 is released!
Congrat!!! enjoy
Here is my understanding, please correct me if I am off. PASM is standard on C2S, it is 10mm lower. PASM-sport suspension is an option, and it is 20mm lower.
My car probably looks lower due to the sport package front spoiler. Because the lower lip is painted, it gives a much better definition of ground clearance. Without this option, the front lip is a black piece, which also create an optical illusion of higher ground clearance. You don't see that piece easily in most casually taken pictures.
Entirely agree with your comments N.

. I wasn't 100% on it either simply because I have not seen one in person when I ordered the car. But you are right on about the nostalgic past, as a big fan of vintage art and product design, a '74 RS is the car that I would put in my living room. Can't justify the cost of Singer911 out of LA, so this is the next best thing – a modern Porsche with a hint of retro ducktail. Within four Porsche dealers all within 25 minutes, eight total within about an hour. The ducktail gives it a little more personality as well. I think if you see it in person, it might grow on you even more.
Happy Holidays. Now I am confused too... Anyone here receive their Porsche dictionary? It is confusing, ask me about leather options, I know a lot more about that subject.

Merry Christmas and enjoy your beautiful addition!
