it's been corrected stated before by others (please take credit) that according to porsche testing, pdcc improves lap times substantially in the 991 over the 997 sans pdcc. and as was said by other previously, it is really unlikely that 99.9% of us race or drive efficiently enough to notice that racetrack disparity. so it's the performance equivalent of the sunroof, some of us like and enjoy it, others don't. ymmv.

While having my GTS at the dealer I did a couple of test drives of a few 991 and panameras. I liked the non pdcc car better. What I love most about the 991 is the burmeister stereo. It is light years better than the bose in the 997.2. For now I won't be trading in my car for a 991, but I really would love to add a panamera gts to my garage. I just got my car in late july and going to a 991 would lose me too much money and I'm not that good of a driver to wring out the added performance of the 991. A 991 GT3 with pdk would be on my radar as I suffer from chronic shoulder pain and can no longer drive stick without feeling a lot of pain. Eventually I probably will get a 991. Maybe when the gt3 version is out or a 991.2 GTS version. I like how porsche packs a lot of street performance goodies in the GTS models.

I also can't wait to drive her without being worried every time I see a patrol car....although most of the times I am well over the Suggested Limit (That's how we call it in Italy....isn't it only a suggestion?).

Can't wait to get together with others of you, just to look at more of her all at once!
Ciao, ale70,

Ha ha, Just the idea of taking the car into Manhattan is the making of an adventure; streets worst than Afghanistan, crazy drivers, suicidal cabbies, blind bicycle riders etc ...

I agree about the front plate; they're definitely cracking down. I just purchased the removable type so I won't have to drill any holes in my beautiful car.

Godere!

Yes, a real adventure! I was just on the Grand Central Parkway (empty), nice and warm, breakin in period over, doing 100mph, when a State Trooper got on the highway....stepped hard on the brakes. either he didn't see me or didn't clock me....another very close call with Law Enforcement!

The more I drive her, the more I feel her.....this morning at 4am I slipped gently into a side street.....very controllable...great job Porsche!

I drove both and I have PDCC in my S. Night and day for sure. She's a monster in the turns and autocross. PDCC is the best option available. Before the test drives I thought it would suck and that it would be a waste of money. Thank God I avoid a huge mistake.

Actually the paved streets in Afghanistan are better than most of the US.

I am still debating between PDCC or not and it is so hard to choose when there is so many conflicting reports on the option. I am sure that the PDCC car will handle better but my main concern as I believe both with and without will handle to my expectations is if the ride is better when not being pushed when equipped with PDCC. Hopefully that makes sense

Well I can give you my perspective as a NON pdcc owner. I couldn't even get it as I purchased a 2012 model off the lot that had pretty much everything I would've ordered, plus I got an insane deal on it. Anyhow, I've had my car for about two months now and as far as the ride goes it definitely impresses me day after day. I do have SPASM but I rarely drive with the suspension in sport mode. In NORMAL mode, it is surprisingly comfortable and balanced, as much as a sports car of this caliber can be. Now it's not M3 "comfort" smooth(M3 boys know what I'm talking about), and over rough pavement can get tiresome but on average decent everyday roads, its more than compliant. Everyone is going to have a threshold on what is considered "harsh" but I'm one of those that can trade off a little stiffness for the sake of sportiness.

I've never even test driven a pdcc car so I cannot comment on it, but I've come to the rationalization that no matter its undoubtable advantages, its just another electronic doohickey that softens the connection between man and machine....I might just get hanged for that one

Nope. It is an hydraulic doohicky that keeps the tires planted at optimal contact patch with the added advantage of factoring out harshness with dynamic roll bar loadings.

If you have professional skills, and run flat out around a 24 mile race course, it will save you about 5 seconds on a perfectly driven lap. On a typical road course that might translate to a quarter second, or less effect than a quarter tank of gas. On the road in normal driving, not so much.

Sport PASM returns more IMHO for the buck- it is huge bargain with tangible effects all in the "sportier" direction.
