I love this car!!

I've had this thing since mid-December, and I love everything about it. To me, for my needs, driving it about 5-6 days per week, it is heads and tails above my previous 997S. And I will give three big reasons why: interior space, less noise, and that marvelous thing called PDK. The car is like a missile compared to the 997S with a manual. The speed with which it shifts in sport mode is amazing.

Here's a few more observations:

PDK shift speed is quicker than a 997 GTS (I had driven back-back)
love the Light Design Package. Get it if you're going to order one-very affordable option.
PDCC rocks - this thing is stable as hell in a corner and adds to driver comfort.
PSE rocks - you WILL turn heads with that turned on, believe me.
The engine-to-road noise ratio has been amped up quite a bit. Sound deadening, sound symposer, whatever, they did a great job with it.
It doesn't really warm up any faster than my 997 did, contrary to the claims (referring to oil temp here).
I would love a multi-function carbon fiber steering wheel, but hey you can't have it all.
Park assist is awesome...Bose is awesome...playing my Rhapsody thru the Bluetooth is awesome...having a sunroof with so much more viewing area is awesome.
Adaptive sport seats plus- wtf man? Do I need 18-way adjustment? hell yes I do ! An electronically adjustable steering column, like in a Cadillac Eldorado? heck yeah! I love it.
A G-force meter? I'll take that too! why not?

If you're going to order one - please get the PSE, PDCC, and light design package, and a carbon fiber steering wheel. You'll be happy you did.

No I do not work for Porsche. ha ha - just loving this car. And I'm still in the break-in period!!

I'm glad you're having a blast with the car and are happy with it. I would concur on almost every point even the controversial PDCC, which I like a lot. For me the only real disappointment is the Bose which is just adequate.

Keep on enjoying the car and thanks for posting.... happy experiences are always a pleasure to read.

great post chance6! oozes with unfiltered enthusiasm! after reading a bunch of recent threads on rattles and noises, wind buffeting, complicated owner's manuals, and massive depreciating interests i was starting to lose the forest from the trees...thanks for bringing the fun to right back to the center where it belongs.

People really need to drive a car with and without PDCC. The only problem with PDCC is the price but it is marvelous.

I have it on my Cayenne and driven one without. It is NIGHT and DAY difference.

Mine is Platinum silver...which I like just about as much. Has a bit of a gold-ish hue in the sun. And I agree, the Bose is just adequate, but still cranks pretty well! I love the PCM system in this car.

I totally agree on everything said here!

I am at 1,983 miles.....waiting to experience the Launch Control. I didn't keep her under 4,000 RPM though. I drove her more gracefully than I will from tomorrow on.

But it is a dream. I am commuting with it every morning and I try to change my path home every day, looking to experience new ways to drive her, and running away from potholes!

This morning I got stopped at the entrance of the Battery Tunnel in Manhattan and the NYPD officer told me I have to have a Front license plate. He only gave me a warning, but I have already set up and appointment to have it installed on Saturday. I drive her 100 miles a day. Chances are I will get pulled over once a week at least....

I also can't wait to drive her without being worried every time I see a patrol car....although most of the times I am well over the Suggested Limit (That's how we call it in Italy....isn't it only a suggestion?).

Can't wait to get together with others of you, just to look at more of her all at once!

It totally makes sense that it would be noticeable on the SUV, which presumably is why (I think?) it showed up there first. I wonder if it's as night-and-day on the 991? [Not according to reviews, at least one of which sounds like they did test both variants on and off track, but who knows...]
