Base 991 Sports Mode does what?
Are we sure about this one? Does the throttle note actually change on a base car without PSE? It obviously can't make it louder, does it just add a little extra burble when you let off the gas? How can it make the exhaust any more aggressive when applying throttle? It can't open any valves in the normal non-PSE system.
No
Yes

Can you also guide me through this. I haven't found that menu. i have a 2014 C2S. The triangle comes on even in Sport or Sport Plus despite the manual saying it shouldn't. What year is your model. Maybe they changed it?
I joke with the dealers and my friends at Porsche Canada that Porsche tires to sell Sport Chrono harder than any other option on the car. Porsche is crazy for Sport Chrono. If you're not using Launch Control and you don't want a little stopwatch on the dash I personally wouldn't bother (I didn't.) But powerful forces out there would disagree with me.
Thanks for the replies!
So consensus it doesn't do much, especially if you run it in manual PDK. I'm surprised about the oil temp dropping though.
ChuckJ: yep, I finally found a low optioned PDK. lot car with PDK + sports steering which is all i wanted. Had a few non performance extra which i could of done without or traded it all for lower price or sports chrono, but i digress.

Yes there is a valve, the sport button activates the sound symposer, sound is noticeable deeper inside the car with the sport button engaged.
I stand corrected. My apologies.
It can be turned off via PCM settings. It was the first thing I did when I picked up my car 23,000 miles ago and I have not seen it since!

In all 911s regardless of options, it changes the feel of the car. The sport setting speeds up shifts, changes the shift map to hold gears longer in the non-manual shift mode, and disables start-stop and sailing. In S models it does more because the S comes with more performance stuff to control. With PSE it does PSE stuff too.

Agree with this ^^^^.
1. Pull both paddles to put into neutral
2. Left foot on brake (PDK won't let you pop back into gear without brake)
3. Right foot rev to 5000-6000 (I forget what Launch Control uses)
4. When you're ready pull back on the + paddle and release brake
5. bye-bye
