Front Spoiler Anyone

I'd be interested to know if anyone has installed their own front spoiler. Seems that some manufacturers are making Plug and Play spoilers, where you do not have to take off anything existing or drill holes, simply overlay and use the existing bolts to fasten. Either that or take off something existing, like the front lip and attach a replacement that it bigger and better. Any experiences? Hard? Easy? Or is everyone going to their shops to install? Here are some that I might be interested in, depending on how easy it is to install. We have Arkym, Techart, SpeedArt, and Vorsteiner.

PC, I'm posting some pics on this thread in the hope that it may help you and others. The pics were taken during PDI of the install of the front spoiler which came as part of the PDCC and SPASM package/option that I had chosen.

Thanks to KaKu for your post. I put mine on without lifting the car in less than 5 minutes.

Vorstiener is my favorite. But I went with the OEM sport lip. It was a pain to pull it down. But took only 8 minutes. There is another post saying to pull the lip "FORWARD". That's not right. Once you pull the sides out, you need to pull "down" to get the lip off.

My Suncoast front spoiler is out for delivery as we speak. Looking to do the install this evening. So for anyone who has already performed this, essentially i just pull out on the outer ends and then pull the center straight down? I know it takes minutes to install but just wanted to confirm. Thanks in advance!

When you install it. Be sure to pull "OUT" on the 2 ends first, then slowly pull "DOWN" towards the center.

Hope not to late to say that is not correct.

There are 2 parts that makes up the front spoiler. The rubber piece and the front plastic lip piece. The first picture on this post (by Haku) is the front lip piece. With that being said, you need to take out the rubber piece before pulling OUTWARD (straight and away from the car) the front plastic lip piece.

So in order to take them out, here is the correct procedure,
- There are 4 bolts that hold the rubber piece, 2 on each (outer) sides. The outermost screws (on both sides) are real screws while the inner sides are plastic fastener that you can easily pull out by hand without unscrewing them first.
- Once you have that 4 screws out, gently pull DOWN only both outer parts of rubber piece and then SLIDE it to the left of the car (toward driver side on LHD car), and finally you can easily pull down the whole plastic piece without any obstacle. Why slide towards left of the car? see pic 3 on this thread and examine those 4 taps pictured.
- Now comes the front plastic lip piece which is very easy, pull straight out from the bumper by pulling out both outer side first (doesn't have to be simultaneously, one side at a time will do just fine).

To put them back, reverse above procedure and make sure all tabs from plastic lip piece are all align in place (to the corresponding bumper holes) before pushing them straight to latch.

Last but not least, don't forget to post pics when you are finish. I'm thinking of putting the sport lip myself while wating and considering the collectible limited edition 911 50th anniversary (RWD, 3.8L, wide body, etc).

You DO NOT need to unscrew or unplug anything. Those screws and plugs are not holding the stock lip to the bumper AT ALL. They are only holding the rubber piece of the lip to the plastic piece of the lip.

All you need to do is just pull the ends OUT and then pull DOWN the rest of the lip.

I know this is because I DID/INSTALL it. And I did read the so call "correct" way. it is not necessary.

Here is the logic for those that THOUGHT they got it right. Either read again or see below.

Pic3 from Haku, it clearly shows 4 holes where they have smaller and bigger area, it MEANS something.
That is where the rubber piece will HOLD and LOCK the plastic lip from the bumper, so that the lip will not accidentally fall of or pops out from its bumper.
Rubber piece has an L shape locking tab, it goes into the bigger hole area, then slide to the smaller hole area to FUNCTION as a lock.
Clearly the 4 screws did not do the lip to bumper securing/locking job NOR did I say so.

You can pry the whole rubber-plastic lip assy out from bumper, heck you can pry everything out and force it to put it back on BUT that is NOT the correct way. Whether or not you want to do it PROPERLY, it is yours to break.

Agree here. The screws hold the rubber to the plastic and not to the car. As yxc states, if you pull the ends out (not the ends of the front spoiler that you see, but the ends of the spoiler UNDERNEATH the car) the whole front spoiler will loosen on one side, then all you need is to pull down to take off the rest of the lip.

Installed the PASM front lip from Suncoast over the weekend. Took five minutes. No loosening of screws necessary. Just pull out. Started on one side and worked my way over to the other side. Quite easy. Looks nicer. Very subtle difference.
