Clear bra wrap ?

When my car comes in I have plans already in place to have the whole front end wrapped. I also bought some really good carnauba wax. Question for those of you that been through this, did you take you car home first and fully wax it? Then take it to get wrapped or wrap then wax? Does it affect the application process? I want to wax it first so it is on all the paint surface.

Thanks

Regardless of whether the car will be waxed or not the clear bra installer will most likely clay bar the areas that will be bra'd. If it'll be a while before you get the install I would just wax it anyway.

Mine went straight from the dealer to the Clearbra installer.
That is how the installer preferred it - without anything applied to the clear coat from the factory.
I had Xpel installed...

If the place is as good as Premier wraps is here in the bay area I would highly suggest a full wrap. It's hard to tell the difference but with the best films out there, it is optically clear. I wrapped my car in full since I want to protect from not only rock chips but also from careless people walking by my car in a parking lot etc.

As for waxing before, a good shop will just strip everything down with clay and paint prep before they go to town.

I'm in the Peninsula. Just picked up C4S a week ago. So where do you recommend for clear bra, and by "full wrap" how extensive are you talking about? Could I ask how much it was?

Thanks!

Premier Films in Fremont is where you want to go. By far and away the best. If you look in the Mercedes forum, they're doing a wrap on my C63 Black - with a satin wrap that lets the underlying color through. My car is Matte Black from the factory but I wanted extra protection. They go above and beyond almost treating the car like a repaint - they take out trim, bumpers, headlights, logos, etc to make sure no edge or seams are visible. No one would know that it's a wrap and not the car's primary paint.

Prices vary depending on the car I think, so it's best to call them, but I believe it would be around the 3-5k range for clear gloss wrap and 7-9k for the satin wrap. Pricey, I know, but the comfort of having the factory paint protected from quite a bit of harm is comforting, and will keep the value of higher end cars.

Be careful and use a reputable company. My first wrap was done by an amateur who should have stuck to cheap cars, even cut through the paint in the side mirror. Good news though my second wrap was near perfect with XPEL product done by glistening perfection in Los Angeles area, and now it is great.

Go for the full hood wrap for sure! I would go full front fenders and mirrors too!

Best of luck!
Thanks for the advice ! I will definitely do a little research also on there product they use. He did tell me they mostly do pre-cut film but for a little extra they would do the wrapped edges and stuff.

I had Xpel ultimate done on on my 996TT. Full frontal wrapped over - no seams. Do it as soon as you can to avoid any chips.

Mine was done custom wrapped over the edges. It's worth the extra coin especially on a high-end vehicle. Looks fantastic!
