Do You Have a Binder?

I purchased a blue binder to go with my blue car. Within, I have placed every form I have received from Porsche. I have them organized by date, my original order form, the whole set of purchase invoices, all the garage visits locally and out of state. I even have an article I wrote up for our local PCA mag on the Route 66 trip. Anything relevant to the car, outside of magazine articles, I place in the binder. Why? Well it's my new baby and I want to keep the memories (wife calls it obsessions). I also want to document every little thing done or happened to it.

I may be going overboard, it is only a car, damn expensive too. This act may only be wanted or practiced by a few of you. Those who want to keep the car or baby it. If you consider the 991 just a car, then there's really no reason to be so OCD like me. If you plan to keep it for sometime, then gather everything in one place. If you do sell it in the future, the next owner may like to know where your little friend has been and what it's done.

That is all. Another public service announcement from Chup.

Of course I do!

I have a file that contains all of the relevant information on the car in chronological order.
  • Promotional Materials
  • Original Order / Configuration Paperwork
  • Purchase Paperwork
  • Service Records
  • Receipts for All Major Parts Purchases and Installation
  • Relevant Technical Information

I did the same with my previous car and it made its private sale so much easier and cleaner.

"You want all of the car's history and information on all mods and installs for the last 6 years? Sure. I'll have that scanned and to you in 10 minutes."

Yes of course! I have a little box for the 911. I like boxes because I sometimes want to keep the envelopes as well as the paperwork. The Certificate of Authenticity is a proud part of this collection.
I even tried to buy back orders of the Christophorus magazine going to the first issue that mentions the 991 but PCA didn't want to send them to me.
We must strive for Order, Completeness, Discipline!

I scan all files to .pdf and toss them. Been doing this for a long time. File rests now on Dropbox, so is accessible by phone or computer wherever I am. Sort of a "binder in the cloud". File from ALL the cars i have owned

That is way funny, I love it. We don't have a binder. I am sure some of us here have our own little OCD when it comes to our car. Mine is probably taking pictures of it now that the kids are older/grown. Your process keep you smiling, that is what count.

Hehehe.... I thought of exactly the same word!

I'll digress a teeny bit. Whilst my documents are filed in a work like folder, my key sleeps in its own little bed.... all tucked away!

. Nice. I created my own 991 decal to put at the back of the seats, and created my own 50th anniversary graphics for the garage

haha. We are all very like-minded. It's reassuring that I'm not alone.

When I sold my previous car I made this up to hang in the garage as a memento:

It's four shots I took of her. The small window stickers are from the various rallies I organized and drove on with her. I made sure to take them off of the car before it shipped out.

I have a binder. I tried to replicate the binder that Audi sent me for the A8, which has all different compartments, with its own labels and it closes with a magnet...

Also, I framed my delivery day's pictures, together with the window sticker. I had waited for 36 and a half years....Everybody that knows me, also knows that it's genuine passion for the 911 and that I am not bragging. Anybody else that comes in my office and sees the frame must think I am an idiot....Can't care less,....
