New Car Delivered: Horror story of out of state delivery
Now's a good time to pick up a polisher, some pads, and a moderate compound. A few hours and she'll be good as new.

Sorry to hear that. I had a similar bad delivery experience. My C63 Black Series came from Texas enclosed. The guy was trying to wipe it down with his own cloth. But the worse part was that all of the tires were deflated!
yeah, my thoughts exactly when i saw it... they used one of these trucks... not exact, but similar.
That's a real bummer! I feel for you. It may well be worth naming and shaming the transporter either publicly or to the dealer. You may be able to save a fellow enthusiast suffering a similar experience.
Yup, agree with ae911 and others. Get the car detailed and put the delivery event behind you. The car will be gleaming in all its glory before you know it and then you can really enjoy it.

detailing to get the swirls out is darm expensive by anyone that has a good reputation here

I'm sure once I get past the first 2k miles and can open the throttle, this will probably be a distance memory. For now, it may seem to be a bigger deal than it is, but I guess it comes down to the new car experience.
congrats on you new car and successful delivery
no excuse whatsoever for a trucker to be throwing water on a brand new car and wiping his grummy hands all over it, especially if the guy was wearing a watch or wedding band that can scratch the hell outta the paint. I'd get her detailed and see what happens. It's worth the $150 or so to get it done right.
Horrible. If you don't get complete satisfaction from the dealer, I'd go right to the top and contact Porsche in Germany. I am sure they would not be happy to hear this story and would make sure to make fix this disaster.
My local dealer has a brand new black 991 4S on their showroom floor with only 5 miles on the odo. I was looking it over and saw plently of light scrates in the paintwork already, some of them quite nasty. They really show as it's a black car and were probably caused by their in-house "detail guy" (kid) not knowing what he was doing. I pointed it out to the salesman and he just shrugged his shoulders. I'm sure they will all buff out but..............it was enough for me know that I should never allow them to wash my car when it's in for service.
Frenzy, I really feel you and hope the dealer makes this right for you. I expect a lot from my dealer, especially at this price point. I'm optimistic that they will take care of you and have it looking better than new. I would recommend getting a good random orbital polisher and a few types of pads. They are great for removing minor imperfections, and will come in handy every once in a while. I use the German made Flex Polisher: http://www.autogeek.net/flex-orbital-polisher.html
Keep us posted. Looking forward to more pics.

Sorry about your experience. If it makes you feel any better... I had an sl55 delivered years ago open transport where the driver left the windows open while he drove cross country through a storm or two. There was a good inch of water on the floor upon arrival. Also, the wheels were improperly strapped causing slightly bent lips on the aftermarket wheels. To top it off the driver couldn't speak english. Now that was a real "horror" story.
A claim was filed with the shipping company but from what i remember nothing ever became of it. I didnt have much invested into the car so i really didnt pursue...really just chalked it up as a valuable lesson learned. This was the first car i've ever shipped and didnt understand the value of enclosed transport from a reputable company.
Last month i used Intercity Lines (board sponsor) to ship my turbo from coast to coast, no complaints whatsoever. A little on the pricey side but worth the peace of mind IMO. I've also had good experience doing a cross country move with a classic car using Magic Carpet Shipping. I found them on http://www.transportreviews.com
