Just took delivery of my Dad's birthday gift. Ordered it back in November and it finally arrived 4 months later. Red wouldn't be the first color I'd choose on a Porsche but it fits the 'red sports car' moniker and it actually looks pretty nice! I hope he likes it.

Thanks guys. You guys crack me up. hahaha. Ajag, I did think about the clear sides, but you know what, he'll never notice. He's not a crazy autophile like us. I also went with the base stereo below the BOSE. It's actually not that bad! Sounds just as good if not better than the BOSE that was in my previous 997.1 TT. That one reverberated in the cabin and gave me headaches.

So I got to drive it home yesterday. The car is silky smooth. I LOVE the rear tail lights and the way they light up. Couple things:

-What's up with the start/stop feature that defaults on when you start the car? It works well, but I feel like I'm in a gas powered golf cart with the way it starts up again after turning off. Very strange. I wonder how much gas you actually save with that feature. Has any car magazine done a test on that?

-A/C also defaults on every time I start the car. Wish I could turn these two features off as default.

I'm going to surprise him on Tuesday when he gets back from his trip. Too bad it's going to rain that day.

Best gift ever. If you turn on sport mode, the Start/Stop feature is disabled. Also, if you turn on sport mode, the car is a lot more fun to drive.

 

There's a button on the console by the shifter that turns the start/stop off, and it stays set to your preference. I suspect the A/C cycling is related to that too.
