Torn between C4S Coupe and Cab
Torn between C4S Coupe and Cab, advice please?
I put my 2013 April build on hold today for a 2014 and now I am seriously thinking of trading off Ceramic Brakes for the cost difference of the Cab. I have had a 911T Coupe, 996 and 997 Cabs. In Florida when it is not summer the Cab is great, however practically the Coupe seems more the way to go. I am impressed by the roof system of the Cab and think I should switch, however no brake dust and less unsprung weight has me really thinking hard. Please weigh in to help me through this. Thank you......

Grab the cab
I can't speak for the utility of a cab in Florida, but here in Colorado, I have become a cab devotee. In my opinion, the tradeoff in terms of cabin noise, etc is well worth it for the times you get the wind in your hair. My current cab is an Audi S5, and the next one will be a C4S. Just my .02.
If you will track it regularly get the CB and a coupe. If it is mostly for street driving the Cab is the best - top down on a nice day, just can't beat it. Fortunately, I still have my hair... well, most of it.
Coupe looks amazing but the cab with it's new roof line has really narrowed the gap (visually) between the 2... so why not embrace the lastest and greatest in Porsche development, I mean magnesium roof pannels that's pretty cool no!
I went with the C4S cab because it even makes running errants feel like a holiday.
Also took the PDCC (latest and greatest)... which was kind off a stab in the dark but what the hell, I have faith.

If you want to bring a smile to a woman's face, get the Cab.
Really, one has to drive each back to back, and see which one brings the smiles.
It is, with these cars, the tiny idiosyncrasies that bring a smile to ones face....
The way it sounds and feels with delicate silence.
The way it feels while driving at 120mph down the coast with both your hands in the air, battling the wind turbulence, as if to validate your strength against the elements...
"The World is yours...!"....lol

Just a side point but one that I had to take into consideration when choosing between the two. Whilst I loved the cab, my wife and I both don't like attention and try to be as inconspicuous as possible (as much as one can be in a P car!). The cab we felt may attract a little more attention than the coupe so we went with that. Its also about the communities one lives in... ours is very rural. In a city or probably in FL cabs may just be a lot more common and hence my point may not be of particular relevance.
In either case you will be happy I'm sure.

cab!
and get seats ventilation for 2 reasons.
1: for obvious reasons, could be usefull: top down, FL, sunny, traffic..
2: you can fart silently with the wife next to you and the seat will suck-up the smell! stealth fart... lol

Get both! You have a Volt already and you don't need a boring A8. A coupe for cross country comfort and a Cab for nice days. I have 2 older sons and a Range Rover but when we go to dinner, they like taking the 2 Porsches instead of the Rover. 2 Porsches = a 4 seater.
