991 Turbos
My dealer told my Thursday not to expect to see them in the US until the beginning of the year.
Back in the 70's and 80's the turbo was useful because it got you to 60 in 4-5 seconds. But now even the base is equal to that. The new one is probably going to get you there in ~3.6. I'm not sure how much usefulness it will provide for the street, but I can't wait to see it wipe up things on the track.

Still, it would be a thrill 2 seconds at a time - and that might be priceless!
That means 0-35 in under 2 seconds! Here in JerZ, between lights, cops, traffic and tolls that is as fast as you can get so getting there quick is extremely useful. Why, if you add up the two seconds you save ever time you hit the gas over the course of a year you may have 5 more minutes. If that isn't worth $100K over a C2S, what is?

Personally I never do the 0-60 thing. It's the highway onramps that provides me the excitement of my Turbo S. 0-100 is far more exciting and at least provides the time to look down without the fear of crashing into something.

I will go drive one when it is out because I am such a torque junkie, but I am sure I will not be allowed to afford it!
I'm very anxious to see if the third turbo (finally) eliminates turbo lag. VTG was advertised as such but in my experience, the turbo lag was still noticeable. If the tri turbo fixes that, and with the reduced curb weights and more advanced front/rear power delivery of the 991 C4's (which should solve the understeer problem) we just might have a track monster on our hands.
