Thumbs up GP Automotive Renewal Service/Nano/Clear Film Install - Attilas' 991 Carrera S

In this thread, we'll focus more on our Clear Film application. As you'll see, not all installs are created equal, and a vast amount of expertise is required to do a proper install. Sit back and enjoy

Each clear film project starts with our Phase 1 Clarification Service. When applying the film, we want to make sure the complete vehicle is as clean as possible to avoid any potential for cross-contamination

Update: 7:45am pst

Wheels and wheel wells washed

Exterior washed

Areas to have clear film installed are properly decontaminated. In this case, since it's a new car and only a few days old, a FINE grade clay is used. Depending on age of NEW car, we may use a MEDIUM clay. Depends on how long it's been exposed to the elements

All clean and ready for pre-prep

Update: 9:00am pst

Pre-installation prep

All black trim taped to protect during polishing

Various stages of polishing done to acquire desired result. In this case, a light polish/pad combo did the trick

Surface cleaned using alcohol. We aren't kidding about getting a sterile surface

Forced air used to get any polish dust out of the seams

Thank you!! The director and I became very good friends and that helped him understand that this was no longer a sales/marketing piece, but an emotional journey I live everyday that we wanted to convey to the audience.

Looking good so far. Wife's not exactly smitten with the 944, so I guess I'll have to take the 991 back when your done.

Final task prior to install, touch up any noticeable chips. With only 250 miles, this bumper had already two impact areas. GT Silver is probably the most difficult color to match IMHO. We did the best we could

Unless we feel there's a better substitute, we only use OEM paint

Now we begin installation. Our installs are somewhat unique. They combine the best worlds of a pre-cut to a true hand-cut application. In the software to cut the film, we're able to manipulate the overhang and coverage of the film. So, for areas such as hoods, it's simple to extend the edges and apply the film without cutting. For intricate areas such as bumpers, we extend edges, and cut to a custom fit. For mirrors, we simply cut by hand. So each install is unique and tailored to our specifications. This assures us maximum coverage while significantly reducing any damage to the paint surface while cutting

A Nano Coating is then applied to further protect the film

Lights checked for proper function
