appropriate tire pressure

on the 4S and I believe the 2S as well, the sticker right on the bottom of the pillar next to the driver's side door indicates front 36 rear 44
manual suggests some pretty low values for partial loads
and comfy mode...(32ish)

which one do you guys prefer?
I feel the car being much more solid if I follow the 36/44 numbers
although I was wondering which one maybe best for tire life?
Common sense suggests the higher setting...

My common sense says the higher numbers will wear the center treads faster than the inner/outer treads.

Higher settings are for sustained speeds above 100 mph. If you live near the autobahn, go for it.

If you like the firmer feel, pick numbers half-way between Comfort and Performance.

my 991 C2S came of the dealer with full load hi-speed pressure. after about 2000 miles i switched down to partial load lo-speed pressure (31/34 psi f/r) and the ride is night and day improved for the past 1500 miles or so. wish i changed the pressure earlier.

I'm usually at riding at 30 front and 36/38 rear using comfort. Starts off at 36 and ends up at 38 after a few minutes of driving.

My front right tire just dropped from 36 to 29, think I got a nail in it. Damn that was fast, 1100mi only these tire attract nails I magnets. I was just thinking about dropping the pressure t comfort, glad I didn't do it. This should allow me to hobble over to the nearest tire shop.

welcome to the club ...with these tires 3-4 nails per year is my norm

I guess it depends on the areas you are driving too but no matter what,
due to the thickness, the probability to pick up nails shall be at least tripled than the one on typical car's..

Gracious - what did you do when you go the flats? Did you use the sealant or get it towed? If you used the sealant, does it work? Just curious . . .

Thankfully, I never had to use the sealant
I usually go to local indy and patch it really quick.
I am monitoring the tires closely everytime I start the engine so if I see any
discrepancy I will immediately scrutinize things.
Now if you get a nail on the side or the rate of air loss is too high you maybe hopeless and you would need to use the sealant...or get towed
given the fact that a patch is cheaper than replacing a tire that had sealant on it, I would prefer the towing option --if available
your other option would be that:
