20" winter tires on c4s not an option?

seems like on the 4S, one has to change wheels to get winter tires on this car..

Tire Size Front: 245/35-20 Tire Size Rear: 305/30-20 vs 295/30-20 (on the 2S)

What are the chances new tires on this size may come up any soon?

I'm running the 295/30/20 Michelin Alpin rears on my 991 C4S. No problems at all.

You should run slightly narrower snow tires anyway. Most tire places recommend a size down in radius (not possible on the S, of course...you are stuck with 20" as the smallest size) and 1 or 2 steps more narrow. This typically puts more tire in contact with the road in snowy situations.

Of course, as wide as the rear tires are, it makes little difference. The size change is minimal...these are really fat tires that would float in slippery situations anyway.

bottom line, I will have to change the wheels as well in order to accommodate the narrower 295's ...
(car comes with 305's)

no you won't. I run 295s on my OEM C4S rear wheels and everything is a-ok. The tires aren't stretched at all and the rim still has plenty of protection.

The rear wheels on the C4S aren't wider than the C2S... only the offset changes to account for the wider stance.

In fact, I had the dealer pull off the 305 summers and put on 295 winters before I even took delivery of the car in January.
