Plasti-dipped my emblems this evening. Some pics...
The emblems looks awesome!
Interesting thought: If you plastidip the entire car and change the color (ie originally white and then plastidipped to matte black), would there be an issue if ever stopped by a cop? The color of the car won't match registration. Just wondering

Just a quick late update:.....
Btw, it looks freaking awesome in person. I could not get a good photograph at night in the garage, I will take another in the sunlight..but the lettering now matches the ceramic black exhaust tips, the carbon fiber vorsteiner lip, and the black cabrio roof really well. I don't know if it comes through in the photos. But in person honestly, I was amazed. Looked great to me. Thanks again to the OP.

That does look great! Nice Job! I was thinking of seeing if I could find paint to match the platinum finished wheels and do the same thing (or have it done as I am not great at such DIY projects). I would also love to find a way of incorporating that color into the wheel cap and hood ornaments. Anyone have ideas?

Plasti-dip does make a number of colors (including a "gunmetal"), but in my experience, Lowes only carries black. You will likely need to order the other colors online.
Just thought I might save you a trip to Lowes. If you were just looking for an excuse to go for a drive you can pretend that you never saw this post.

Nicoli! Looks amazing! So glad I could be of assistance. And wow you waited 3 hours? I waited maaaaaaybe 30 minutes before peeling away slowly and carefully with fingers, an exacto-knife and a toothpick. Did it in the garage with the door open (in my shared driveway/backyard as the neighbors watched me in dismay. And yes the smell is interesting!

I guess thanks for the info is due
Question about taking off the overspray on the bumper (around the emblems). When you peel off the overspray, doesn't the overspray try to peel off the paint on the emblems as well? I don't have any experience with plastidip. Just curious. Looks good btw!
I then re-sprayed just the "P" but didn't clean the letter and it again didn't come out well (surface coat of product on the letter was uneven), so I took rubbing alcohol and a Q-Tip and cleaned all around and inside the letter space with the alcohol, then (for the 3rd time) applied the Plasti-Dip to the letter "P" area. (in 3 layers, each layer 20 minutes apart) It might help to gently trace the surface of the dry Plasti-Dip around the letter/emblem with a toothpick (being careful not to press so hard you scratch paint underneath). I did that with the "P" during the last removal.
3rd time was the charm, it finally came out perfectly and matched the rest. The car is now at the local Porsche Dealership (Roger Jobs Motors, we love them) getting an oil change and a Spring detail. I am curious to see if the Plasti-Dip will survive the detail waxing etc, but I showed Elliott, the Porsche service advisor it was on there. He grinned and said "cool!".
If using a spray can of Plasti-Dip, make sure the nozzle is not clogged if you go back a day later and re-apply after first using the can. I test-sprayed a piece of cardboard making sure it would apply properly and evenly each time I did another layer. There's plenty in the can to do the rear end lettering/emblems and more.

(on a side note, got her back from the Porsche general service & detail and the lettering survived just fine. They replaced the Fabspeed nuts and bolts with Porsche bolts, adjusted the tips a bit and eliminated a slight 800 rpm rattle back there. It's nice to have a dealer you like who takes care of the car!)
Best of both worlds! Now who's going to be the first one to do it?
