Battery Charging
Battery Charging
I do not have the Porsche batter charger that I've read about here. That being said I have the one I attached in the the pics here. It has been snowing non stop for a week and is supposed to continue for at least a week. I took her out for a short drive today, needed dog food! Not too much snow on the roads today, but was pretty slippery in summer performance tires
. Since the weather has been pretty crappy I have not driven her much.
When i started up today, the screen showed battery discharge. I am going out of town all of next week so it will sit for another week. I'd like to put a charger on the battery while I'm gone so the battery is good when i get back.
Can anyone here tell me if the one I have in the pics will work, and if how how I'd set it up to run while I'm gone? I bought it for my lawn tracter but have not used it yet.

Never one battery problem and I have stored the car for over 3 months in the past.
Great product at your P Dealer. And there is a warranty that goes with the unit and the battery if you do have a problem.

Thanks for the reply's. Yes I should have purchased one from the P dealer, but I was not expecting to have the car sit this long. Going out of town tonight so no time to get one from the dealer. That is why I was wanting to use the one I have for the tractor.

The Porsche charger is a rebranded CTEK. They're slightly cheaper direct from the manufacturer.
On a related note, which cigarette lighter socket does one plug the charger into? I've read here and there and have seen conflicting reports on which of the 3 (or 4, with smokers package) sockets are always on.

If you have the smokers' package, that one is always on, as that is what I use. The extra one on the passenger side footwell I am pretty sure shuts off after 10 minutes. Not sure about the others.
