The eternal dilemma, C2S or C4S?
The difference in width is huge ONLY to the Porsche enthusiast- no one else would notice unless you forced them to look carefully!
Both handle at such high levels- dry or wet that they are safe and secure. Better to get the options that will make the far most enjoyable to you than to worry about ultimate performance- it will be so far above what you are used to that it won't matter until you get a few years of intense tracking behind you.

Absolutely, I've never been in a track, but if I do it will be only a few days a year so I'm not building a car to track, otherwise I would go wit the new GT3

C2S all the time.
I really love to fell my tai goin' right and left when accelerating...
...or when you make a fast turn and then push down the feet.
I really love my C2S. I think (only my opinion), that C2S is the "true" 911.
Anyway, i have to say, people love also C4S. And after all...they are right anyway!

Think about it. GT3 always rear wheel drive and never 4 wheels drive
The shape of the 991 2S, to me, is wide enough. My first Porsche was a 997 4S cab - and in that series, to get that wide a$$ look, you needed the 4S. I honestly think the 2S is pretty nice back there already.
I used to think I'd get a 991 4S as soon as possible, especially where I live - but have become quite enamored with the handling characteristics of the 2S. It's more of a playful friend to me than the 4S was, but the 4S was PDK also so that could have been part of my dissatisfaction.
As has been suggested, drive both - but even then, you won't get the chance to really feel pedal-down cornering goodness unless you are without a sales rep on an extended drive. Either car is fabulous. Consider yourself lucky if you've owned both, it's a wonderful experience base looking forward.

but there will be another kind of gratification being 'planted' and precise
H, you're quite justified to be biased!
About the width of the 991 2 vs 4, partly it's about perception. I noticed it a whole lot more on 997's. So much so that the aesthetics were the main reason I choose to go with the 4S every time I bought a 997... apart from the GT3. With the 991 I'm not so fixated on the wider design. Don't get me wrong, I do like it a lot, but not enough for me to compromise on the extras that I'd want if that was the option.
Here's another butt shot to confuse the OP some more

I'm probably wrong because I'm not an expert on this matter, but here I have a few conclusions I've made from my point of view
1. Both C2S and C4S are awesome cars, I can't go wrong with any of them.
2. The difference between C2S and C4S body is a bit noticeable, so it depends on the buyer, ballpark and equipment he needs/wants.
3. C2S is more fun, more "old school 911". C4S is more planted in the street, more convenient for hard weather.
4. Since I can't put PDCC on the C4S but I can on the C2S, maybe getting the C4S (more planted) without the PDCC is like getting a C2S with PDCC.
If I go with the C4S it's clearly because the looks (that illuminated light strip looks awesome). I will have to leave out PDCC and other extras, but I'm willing to do so since I'm not a track guy or something like that. I've tried a C4 and C2S, both without the PDCC and it seemed to be very secure in any case. For now the C4S is growing on me, but I will take a trip to Madrid to see more colors and the C2 and C4 in person to be able to compare better.
I'm leaving some pics I found on autogespot
Love how black with brushed aluminium on the border of the window looks!

OP, seems like you prefer 4S more, go with it. I'm sure 2 vs 4 have their own merits, but at the end of the day, it also comes down to a budget.
Everyone needs to justify their buying decision, some comfortably make a purchase or financing, and some doing leasing for his/her own reasons.
Next, one trying to opted for higher model in the expense of fewer options (skipping full leather interior seems to be the favourite) as a result of justification or preferences.
I would go with 4S if I were in your position, the looks alone worth the price differences.
As a warning, whichever you choose, you will still have buyer remorse if you keep hanging out in this great forum

Looking at the image they seem to be taken in a slightly different perspective, because if I put one on top of the other, and try to align the Porsche logo on the front of the car, they don't align well. The difference in hips also looks to be more than 44 millimetres, which is not true based on Porsche specs!
EDIT: you can clearly see the perspective difference in the side mirrors, on C2S you see less of the mirror than on the C4S.
