So I picked my C2 yesterday and I feel like I must be dreaming
I'm not sure its actually hit me yet that I have the privilege of driving a Porsche 911! I picked it up in the AM and made my way to my office about 25 miles from the dealer. My assistant called me and told me she parked in "My Spot" to save it, and to let her know when I was arriving so she could move her car for me! Upon arrival, a few of my co-workers were waiting for me out in the parking lot. I ended up taking them on a few test drives and let them try it out too (keeping RPM's under 4k). People were blown away by it, and there were lots of pictures taken. Everybody who drove it had an "AHA" moment when the car rev-matched the downshifts. You can't help but have a huge grin on your face when it happens for the first time. It's my favorite feature (along with the sport exhaust as the blip from the rev-match sounds amazing) As a few others from the office went down to look at it, there was a small crowd of guys from another office in the complex checking it out. You'd think nobody had seen a 911 before
When I arrived home last night my 2 kids rushed outside to see the car as they heard it coming up the driveway. (apparently the sport exhaust is quite loud
)
My wife took a few pictures and the kids hopped in for a drive. After a few miles into the drive, they told me this was their favorite care I've ever owned. I agree!! Last night I spent a few hours with it in the garage just admiring it and learning some of the cars basic features.
This morning I woke up with anticipation of driving it. My kid's bus stop is about a 100 feet away from our house and as I drove down the driveway, I could see them and a few of their friends watching me. I couldn't help myself so I blipped the throttle and watched the reactions
My wife called me a few minutes later and jokingly called me a "child" and she was watching me drive away too!
Here's a picture of my car tucked away for its first night.

What a wonderful write up! I just love it when you read something and it just makes you happy and appreciate all that we have.
M5Ivan, I'm super happy for you and your family that you're so enjoying the P car. It's also VERY nice of you to share your car with your fellow workers.
Many thanks for sharing your story.

Great story, M5Ivan, I'm 150% with you. I don't have to get out of the car and ring doorbells anymore either because everyone hears me coming
Proof again that it's never too late to have a happy childhood!
