991 - 19" wheel discussion...

I would like to open up conversation regarding running 19" wheels on the 991 chassis vehicles.

Specifically, curious about 19" wheel fitment on C2 and S models. I have a set of 997 turbo wheels that may end up on a friends 991.

The 997 Turbo (S) wheels are as follows. The fronts are 8" instead of 8.5" and the offset may be a bit higher. The rears are standard 11" width but with a much lower offset:

Front: 19 x 8... 57mm offset
Rear:19 x 11... 51mm offset

STFA but couldn't derive any clear answers.

The tech manual shows that the Carrera wheels are:
Front axle- 8.5 J x 19 ET 54
Rear axle- 11 J x 19 ET 63

Biggest issues would be making sure they clear the brakes and that the offset is enough they aren't touching the suspension. You can use spacers to change the offset if necessary, but for brake clearance - it just has to fit.
Unless someone has done it already, the best bet may be to try to test-fit.

FWIW I have run 997.1 NB (carrera classic) wheels on the 991S and they worked fine. The rear offset looked very close to the 20"s. The fronts sit noticeably closer to the brakes but still clear with no problem.

Then the front would probably need a 10-15mm spacer going from 8" ET57 to 8.5" ET54 to clear brakes and look aesthetically good.

The rear would probably clear more than enough being 11" wide like the 991 but would be 13mm wider stance.

My logic says they would work great....?
