991 C2S vs BMW M6 on Fifth Gear

For those of you who missed Fifth Gear last Sunday, here's a quick comparison of the C2S and the new M6 by Tiff and Sabine Schmitz
.
It is no surprise that the C2S is faster...

M6 (and M5) need to go on a diet.

The put a lot of importance on the PCCB but do you guys think it makes any difference over the standard brakes when driving just one lap? My feeling is it's a very slight performance advantage for the lower weight, but the steel brakes don't fade at all over a single 1.40 minute lap.

You are right. The heavy M6 probably needs stronger brakes more than the C2S... Weight and balance make the difference.

The horsepower and torque differences are substantial. As usual Porsche has what it takes to more than make up the differences.

Agreed but it also had CCBs and I wonder what the result would have been for the ///M if it had them. The price of the cars in Canada are actually very similar so this was a great comparison. Pretty impressive for a massive elephant GT like the M6. I definitely miss my 911 driving the M5

Good stuff Serge. So actually the Fifth Gear test was very comparable to the Fastestlaptimes.
