P Zero vs MPSS question
P Zero vs MPSS question
I only have 5 mm ground clearance getting into/out of my garage with the original P zero on the car. Does anyone know if the MPSS are a bit lower for the same size tires as the P Zero. A friend got a set of MPSS and visually it appears they may have a slightly smaller outer diameter?? thank you.
Width varies a lot, but overall diameter doesn't vary much at all (only the tread depth)
the scary thing is that from 10/32 - > 1/32 (bald) you probably have over 7mm of delta, which means when your tires are bald, you will likely scrape.
that said, if it's just the plastic front lip, scrape away, it's designed to be a bit flexible.

Most states define legally bald as 4/32, however anyone that is stupid enough to drive a Porsche with bald tires is stupid enough to scrape the front fascia I guess.
Is does raise a question though that if the MPSS are slightly lower. than for me at least I would not get the extra mileage they seem to have over the PZero. According to MPSS tech specs a 40 series up front has 1/4" larger diameter, but may have other issues on the car,

According to Tirerack the diameter for the 245/35/20 for Pzero and Michelin PSS are both 26.8"
I think its cause of the rounder sidewall, which cause the PSS to look more low profile
