Not much help here. You cannot go wrong either way.

PDK solves the traffic problems.

The base engine loves revs and MT makes getting them extra fun. PSE adds the perfect amount of sound to the mix either way and I like the ability to choose the level.

I really dont care for the lauch control, dynamic engine mounts or 0.2 seconds, but if you like paddle shifting like me, Sport Plus mode is fantastic, feels like a F1 racer, not so much on the streets in full auto mode, its overkill.
Good call on the "S", I had a couple of base 991 before ordering my S, perfectly capable cars but the higher torque figures at low to mid range in the S are always welcomed in a DD when driving relaxed, believe me, you can feel the difference.

Congrats, good choice stepping up to an S! It's what i'd have recommended too.

And sport chrono with the dynamic engine mounts is an excellent addition. PSE is nice but not a must, and can always be added later. The exhaust note may be loud enough from the get-go.

What started out as an $85K Cayman S turned into a $120K Carrera S. I'll post the build sheet once my dealer emails it to me.

I completely agree with your conclusions but was not able to view the final spec . I don't know if you ordered the sport design steering wheel but I happen to prefer it bdecause it has the paddles rather than the buttons .

You'll be fine without PSE and sport chrono is a must (agree with others on this ).

I also know exactly how one can go from a 75K Cayman S to a 120K 991S .

If the price is causing you to vasilate .. consider this ..
If you buy the car you must be ready to keep it for a long time so it has to be right otherwise the depreciation is immense . I am actually shocked by it moreso than with Porsche 911 cars in the past . They all depreciate but this current car is (IMO) falling like a rock on used searches .

I had a discussion about this with a close friend of mine who also has multiple Porsches including a Gt3RS and Cayenne and last night he told me he added a CPO Boxster Spyder . He expressed something that i felt really hit home when he told me that his Gt3RS which he bought a year ago has already had people asking to buy it for what he paid . He's not selling it . He felt that the Boxster Spyder will do the same . His exact words to me were "I wanted to buy a great Porsche and I became tired of losing 40 thousand dollars " . I think he's right and i am noticing that there are certain models of Porsches which have held value in the last year .

JUST FYI -- I have owned 9 Porsches and this is the first time I am pausing .

If you buy the car I want to be the first to congratulate you . PDK was a great choice because it is the one big improvement that the 991 has above all the former cars . If you think it over and decide not to buy it .. then you might just find in two years that 120K car might just be bought used for 80K .

No matter what you decide .. you win .
1) Buy the car .. you have a great car
2) opt out .. you saved money and that's never bad

Good luck !!

Congrats Sanibelspeed.
You now need to step away from the configurator!!

Your bloodshot eyes and finger spasms are usually a good indicator that your configuration is as close to perfect as it will ever be..

I underlined the two things I would skip and shave off nearly 1K .
I would add PASM though . The ride height appeal and peformance benefits are significant .

Nice build, congratulations.
I'm surprised you got there by changing your order so few times!
Btw, the sport exhaust is sublime whilst IMO the power steering plus may be unnecessary.

I chose painted interior trim (the horizontal band of aluminum-looking stuff that runs across the dashboard and the doors) in the exterior color to break up the vast sea of Luxor Beige which is everywhere in the interior. WHen making this choice one has to also paint the bright aluminum trim on the console and that was just too much red and made it too busy but they give you the alternative of covering that in leather, so I did.

I figured the voice control is a good idea since the sport steering wheel doesn't have any controls on it so I can change radio stations, dial numbers, search on the navigation, etc. without having to look down and push any buttons.

I've made some more changes but now I'm going to wait until the car comes in and take pics and then you'll see the personalization I did (which isn't available in the Porsche configurator). Stay tuned...

With the SportDesign steering you can navigate through ALL the PCM functions from the side stalk without getting your hands off the steering wheel and keeping your eyes on the road , its very intuitive. No need for voice control.
Only thing that you cant control is the stereo volume level which is within easy reach.

Completely agree. I have the SportDesign wheel and find the side stalk very intuitive. I use it constantly and never have to take my hands off the wheel.

My wife plans on driving this car on occasion and she is completely stymied by the physical world. If she has to learn something new involving stalks and settings, fuggedaboudit. This is my wife:
