991 50th anniversary model
My dealer will give back the money of the first order when the car is sold. Will go see it anyway and probably will have regrets lol.
Exterior: Stone Grey metallic (PTS)
Interior: Black full leather with silver deviated stitching
I had originally chosen for Rhodium with Agate interior, but heard from my dealer that a lot of cars they were selling lately were in Rhodium and I didn't really like that idea. A kind of new black.... so I asked for Glacier White metallic (Audi color), which was in fact the first color that came in my mind when I started thinking about ordering a 911, but that wasn't on the PTS list.
My second choice was Seal grey metallic, but that had still to be checked for feasibillity (which took another 3-6 months extra on top of the 4-6 months for PTS), so I ended up with this Stone grey metallic, which was feasible and is pretty close to Seal grey.

I'm actually seriously pissed off right now with Porsche...
I chose the stonegrey because they said there was no white metallic available within reasonable time (that was roughly a month ago). Couple of weeks later there's a metallic white turbo S on the Frankfurt motorshow and that car looked absolutely awesome!
They just lied to me! And I'm not happy with that. I am really thinking of canceling the car so they can stick their 911 in a place where no light ever shines.

It's not that I don't like stone grey... It's the fact that they lied to me.
I understand how you feel and I think you are right. You make the effort to go there in person, to make sure you get your car perfect to your wishes. Only to find out later they withheld information. Makes you feel like they didn't take you serious, although you pay a bucketload of cash on top of a stock car.

Your delivery is far enough out that you should be able to change your order...isn't it??
The metallic white Turbo S must have been in production or about to go in production at the moment I was there and asked them. I took the efford to drive 3,5 hours to their factory, to discuss the options and possibilities of LTS and PTS. But it's not really the fact that the car i ordered is going to be stonegrey. I liked that color, otherwise I wouldn't have picked it.
My problem is that I took the efford to go there, that I'm willing to pay rediculous prices, don't mind waiting 6 months and even then, they just lied to me. That's something I don't accept from anyone.
It may be a miscommunication or whatever, but that's their problem, not mine. I feel like I'm betrayed and it's their job to take that feeling away from me. If not, then I don't want my car anymore and I'm done with Porsche.
I don't know if my car is in production, or not right now and I don't care either... The order was locked three weeks ago.
I'll go to my salesman tomorrow or tuesday and tell him my problem. I cannot say one bad word about the dealership and especially my salesman. He has had a lot of patience with me (i know I'm not the easiest costumer) and done everything to make the experience like it should be. So i guess he will find a solution this time...

Am not saying this to make you fell better, but i see that the color you ordered will look much better than the white and very unique. am saying this as i tried a similar color once on a car and its amazing the first time you see it, but then you get bored of it quickly. i was at the factory last week and i was told that whatever is done in the exclusive section is confidential and even most of their employees are not aware of whats happening over there, even the guy who took us for the tour showed us that his access card can not access this area and that he only saw the place few times. maybe whoever you talked to was not aware of that as it was going to be a surprise for the motor show.
To me it's the fact that they lied to me or should i say "they gave me the wrong information". How that happened isn't my problem, but theirs.
I had my previous car (Audi S5 convertible) in glacier white metallic and I love that color. That is the color I would prefer most, but i already know that it will not be possible. The Oryx white of the car at the Frankfurt motorshow came pretty close and the car looked stunning. Stone grey was actually my 3rd choice of the grey colors after they said that white metallic wasn't pssible within 5-6 months. Since the first 2 (meteor grey and seal grey) were not possible, i went to stone grey.
It's just rediculous that there are so few possibilities, while having such a rich history in beautiful colors. Why did they build a 250 million paint factory? To tell their costumers that they can do less colors?? Meteor grey is a standard color on the cayenne, but not possible on the 991...???? That's just rediculous!
So while stone grey is a very beautiful color, it's actually my 5th choice.... In other words definitely not my most favourite, but I had not much else to choose. i didn't want a standard color anymore. The Rhodium I first chose, is becoming the new black. My dealership sells 5 out of 10 in rhodium right now.
We'll see what happens...
To me, it is not too surprising that this happened. In large corporations, many times the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Not saying it is right, just saying it does happen. Think that "lie" is too strong a word, and it is more like gave you misinformation, but I am sure that was not intentional. Given all the efforts you made and the work you put into choosing the color you want, they need to make you happy or lose you as a customer.
