Thumbs up Just picked up my first Porsche! 2013 C2

Hey Guys!
I am not new to this forum but new to Porsche. I just picked up a brand new 2013 Porsche 911 C2 PDK black/black with all the important options (sport chrono, pdk, and carrera classics). Love it so far and can't get enough driving time with it.

Here are some pics. Enjoy..

Just one questions. I am thinking of tinting it with either 20-35%. So many people are telling me not to lol. What do you guys think? Should a P car be tinted?

Congrats on your new 911. Tint looks great on black cars, nothing wrong with tint. It gives you privacy, cools your interior and keep them away from UV rays that can damage your interior.

I live in Miami where there are a lot of tinted - and over-tinted - cars. I personally don't care for the look as it seems a bit like the driver wants to hide behind his tint so he can drive more aggressively and rudely. Maybe I'm reading a lot more into it than is really there, but the cars I see being driven like bandits are always heavily tinted.
Also, in the unlikely event you end up in one of our canals, window film defeats even the best center punch so don't count on breaking the glass to get out.

Get the maximum legal tint (whatever that is in your state). It makes the car cooler and it looks great. Good luck with yours. Mine is great also... and tinted.

I think it really depends on where you live. Up north, not so much, down in Florida and such, almost mandatory.

I was born and raised and lived my 66 years in Miami and have learned one thing: the source of interior heat is determined in large part by heat absorption of dark dashboards. Use a sunshade when the car is parked but if you want a tint for cosmetic reasons, whatever floats your boat. I never get my cars tinted because I rarely get a dark interior.

Out here in the Las vegas desert, practically all vehicles are tinted to the legal maximum (35%). The sun is brutal. Here are pictures of my P-cars with the maximum Nevada tint.

Hope this helps.

I would recommend that you go with a tint. I did a 35% tint on my white C2S coupe with a glass sunroof, and I find that the tint enhances the two tone look of the car and makes it look even more slick. I've attached some pics.
