Adaptive Cruise Control & PAS Porsche Active Safe video demo
Here is a video/demo of the Adaptive Cruise Control & PAS Porsche Active Safe system. Hopefully useful to anyone considering this option.
Let me know if you would like a video on any of the other options on the 991

Haha that plan has changed Nick. I've canceld the Anniversary edition and went back to my original plan. So just one 991. A C4S just the way I liked it from the beginning.

I have not ordered the ACC on my car as it is not my DD, but I love this technology.

S U Z Y . . . G T 3

If it works as advertised it can save lives (but seen a test that is does not in the mercedes S class that happily crashed into something).
So I think I will definitely order it on my next car !

Hahaha!
Sorry, but I have to disapoint you. There will almost certainly be a second P-car, but not the GT3... it's gonna be a Boxster (S?) for my other half.

The Boxster can also be thoroughly enjoyed at low speeds too being a convertible. And as nimble as it is, it doesn't need massive hp to drive briskly. Furthermore, the current non S has almost the same hp as the old S cars.
Oh yes, the non S engine won a "engine of the year" award ;-)

Suzy, my previous car was a Boxster S. Honestly, get the non S. No use in spending the extra cash in my view (unless if you'd track it regularly maybe).

To be honest... I'm the one who wants the S. She is more than happy with the base boxster I guess. We have driven both base and S and personally I did like the S more, because it has a bit more torque at lower revs, which makes it easier to drive when just cruising.
I felt that the base Boxster is the one you always have to drive more inspired because it needs the higher revs. IMHO even the Boxster S lacked some low-end torque (even the C4S for that matter
). Maybe it's because I now drive an Audi Q5 3.0TDI which has an addictive amount of 430 lb-ft between 1700-3000rpm so it may be the fact that I'm so used to it. From my own point of view, I wouldn't mind if I had to drive inspired everytime I drove it, but for her (also coming from a diesel) I think she will like the more 2-sided personality of the Boxster S more on longer terms. It's easier and more relaxing to drive at slow speeds (which obviously is not the right speed for a Porsche of course
)The price difference isn't very big, because options like Bi-Xenon, 20" wheels, etc. are cheaper on the S and I was able to arrange a nice discount if we order 2 cars, so I think it's gonna be the Boxster S.

Now back on topic!

Good morning everybody....
Two things....When I was ordering my C2S, my dealer discouraged me from getting the ACC. He said he tested it and it doesnt react well to a car cutting you off, bla bla bla.....
Recently when I was in Germany and Switzerland, i tested it on a MB S Class and now I'm seriously considering upgrading my A8L to one with ACC....
A friend of mine told me that somebody ran a test of MB, Volvo, BMW with ACC and the Volvo was the only car which actually did not hit the dummy car they put on the road. Anybody knows anything about this test?

Edit: I've found the video on youtube.
Personally I didn't get it for the active safe, but more for the adaptive cruise control, which is awesome on longer highway trips.

Funny, my dealer also told me not to get the ACC !
Anyway, haven't tried it in the 991 so I don't know for sure if it works as advertised. But I tested it once in an Infiniti FX and that ACC was fantastic on the highway !
Dare I say a must have for a daily driver in the price range of a 991 ?!

Good question...
If it is configurable, then it should work I guess... Can't imagine Porsche selling those two options, with one not working. On the GT3 you can't ge the ACC, so I think that there the third radiator is the problem, as you mention.
