I can help you as my previous 2 sports cars were the C6 Z06 and ZR1.

The Z06 is a monster and with 470 lb./tq is a load of fun to drive on the street and the track. The LS7 has a low center of gravity (2V) and is relatively light weight when compared to its European counterparts with similar power. The curb weight is less than 3200 lbs.
However the 2S is more nimble, has better front end bite on turn in, more predictable at 7/10 and beyond. The steering feel is far superior. Obviously the fit and finish in the 2S is much better.

I'll skip the model designation on door. Thanks for the advice.

Still undecided on wheels. Going with "matching color", "Platinum", or "Black". Not sure which will look best to me. The one that would show brake dust less, and look better dirty would probably be the most practical for me.

I put 40,000 miles on my Z06 in 2 years of ownership. It was a great "drivers" car when I drove it hard. I will say that 136 is the fast I ever drove it. Have had my Jeep to 142mph. The Jeep felt safer at that speed, than the Z06 did at 136. The Vette was a terrible car in Dallas traffic. It was also very noisy on the highway. Tire noise mostly. I want the choice of gearing up or down, but I don't want the discomfort of a clutch peddle in a traffic jam. The PDK transmission is as much of a reason for my to choose the Porsche, as any other.

The reason I opted against the Gallardo, and SLS are due to my fear of putting miles on them. I enjoy driving. First thing I would love to do with the Porsche would be a rode trip to Florida, or some other distant destination. I would be afraid to put the miles on a Lamborghini or the SLS for that matter. Cargo space, and cabin comfort are my reasons for not opting for the Audi. That, and because I think it will seem dated as soon as a new body style comes out. Something that I expect will happen within 2 years. I have never kept a car for more than 3 years. My hope with the 911 is that, I will love it enough to want to.

PS There is a small part of me that is tempted to go with Guards Red. I do sometimes miss the attention that I received in the Z06. It was red. Biggest reason that the Agate Gray is my 1st consideration, is for the fact that I don't do a great job of keeping my cars washed. That, and I like the way the gray highlights the vehicles lines.

My planned order as of this moment (input appreciated):
4S
18 Way Sport Seats with the Premium Plus Package (memory package)
Burmester Audio Package
Agate Grey with Wheels Painted Platinum Satin (20" Carrera S)
Full Leather interior
Park Assist Front and Rear
Power Folding Mirrors
Model Designation on Doors in Silver (iffy on this one)
AeroKit Cup
BiXenon in Black, with PDLS
PDDC and PASM
PDK
Power Steering Plus
PowerKit
Adaptive Cruise Control with PAS
Luggage Net in Passenger Footwell
Sport Design Steering Wheel
Seat backs covered in Leather
Carbon Interior Package
Center Console in Carbon
Door Sills in Carbon, Illuminated

This car will not have to be my daily driver as I own a 2012 Jeep SRT 8. Although, I may end up driving the Porsche most every day. Previous car was a 2008 Corvette Z06, before that a Z4 M Coupe.

Nice to meet you all
Welcome aboard! Coming from a '07 Z06, which is a light weight sports car with a lot more power, you may want to pay attention to some of the options you have selected. The base curb weight of the 4S is 3220 lbs and with all of your options you are going to exceed 3400 lbs. If weight is not important, then nevermind. Regardless, you have a good looking build.

Why not order the turbo? With that amount of options you're getting on the 4S, it's just a little more for a similarly optioned turbo.

Reasons for not going Turbo:
I want the 991
If I order the Turbo 991, I wouldn't get it until middle of next year. It will be hard enough to wait 3 to 4 months.
I really like the spec level I can get with my budget on 4S, as compared to what I would get with the Turbo on the same budget.
Also, the biggest reason for the Porsche is cornering vs. 0 - 60 times.

The wait time is really the largest obstacle though. If I was going to wait a year to buy something, I would not order in advance. I would wait to see what other manufactures might be coming out with in that time.

Thanks to those that posted about having the vettes, and owning the Porsche now. I am sure you understand exactly why I am going the Porsche route.

Having owned the Z06: top speed, 0 to 60, 1/4 times and lap times are not my priorities. 2 biggest considerations for a new sports car would be wow factor or overall quality.

With the Porsche, I am choosing overall quality over wow factor that I would get with a Gallardo or SLS (I would have to go used if I went with the SLS).

Lamborghini did offer me a brand new Gallardo for $19,000 off list, bringing it down to $195,000 for a brand new one. Used Gallardos can be found for less than I will be spending on the Porsche.

I happen to like the model designation on doors . I feel it adds a tastefully understated appearance and a touch of uniqueness .

I love the build !! The only thing I might add is one more minor interior customization because the car is so detailed in spec . One option might be deviated stitching . another might just match the sport chrono and seat belts to the brake caliper color . I am leaning toward the stitching . Like this . https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...g-details.html
I see that you already chose carbon which is great !!

Question --Is there any reason why you selected the 4S over the 2S ?

I suppose the waiting would be very tough. Keep in mind the Turbo comes with the upgraded steering, which, is vastly superior to what the Carrera's have.

It's not THAT vastly superior I think. Steering in the carrera isn't as bad as some people make us believe it is.
And since there is no official confirmation that he software from the GT3 steering calibration will be adapted to other models, I would not recommend to wait for a Turbo. Just follow your heart and get, what you think is the best car for your needs. From the pricedifference between the C4S and the Turbo, you can buy a lot of petrol to have miles and miles of fun in your C4S

Welcome to the forum. You have a nice build and will certainly enjoy it.

Sport Chrono is important, especially for the engine mounts.

Don't forget the smoking package; it puts a nice cover over that area and adds a 12 volt plug for $0.

+1 Definitely not forget the smoking package. Otherwise you get an ugly hole in your center console

Only thing I would suggest, to make it the perfect build from my perspective, is PCCBs.

Especially with your comment about brake dust and keeping car/wheels clean.

I love my vehicles that have had carbon ceramics. Will always get them if an option.

As far as door sills, I lean both ways. My incoming Cayenne turbo has the carbon fiber sills that are illuminated. Was a final touch on my build. They match the rest of my CF interior and the illumination just adds a touch of luxury. My 991 turbo S doesn't have them spec'd, but will most likely retrofit them.

My $.02.

Probably good to get the ceramic brakes....no thought of brake dust.
