Who Ordered a 2014 991 & What Discount Did You Get?
SubscribeI'll be the first to admit that I didn't shop and should have because my ordered car was only accorded 2% off MSRP. Someone mentioned ordering one from a Daytona, FL dealership and got 8% off and others have mentioned at least 4%. Please post what percentage you got off your 2014 order so I can use it to beat my dealer over the head with to get them to give me some concessions like clear bra, clear markers, etc.
Bueller? Anyone?
I haven't ordered but have been shopping around for a C2S. The best quote I got was 5% off an ordered car. Most dealerships will match the TrueCar.com discount on an in stock car. My build would have been about 6.5%.
mine was 2013 one of the first batch, I was offered 5% as I walked into the door and in 10 min I got more than 7% on an ordered 991S. 2% is outrageous

Keep em comin', folks! Ammunition for me to get some concessions out of my dealer.

If you are not happy with the deal why not take the paperwork to another dealership and see if they can beat it by enough to make losing a deposit worthwhile ? Besides most deposits are refundable unless the car is so unusually speced .Originally Posted by SanibelSpeed

Edit --
Besides -- what other deals get posted might be a result of region . Keep in mind each dealership faces different overhead costs as well as a varied client base . For instance high volume regions generally are South Florida and California . Also buying a Cab in the Notheast in the spring generally spikes the price for that region. AWD cars generally spike in price in high snow or wet regions. In short it's not just where one buys a car but even when he buys it . The best deals right now are 2013 cars . Its end of July , nearing end of model year , and inventory needs to make room for the 14's.The problem is that most of the nicely optioned 13's are gone. In fact in general the leasing BS has led to modestly ( and in some cases pitifully) optioned cars in general compared to in the past .

That means Sanibelspeed would need to wait another 3-4 months

Anyways, you know my discount already Sanibelspeed
My car is about to load onto the ship so there's no starting over now. All I want is a little concessions that would amount to maybe half of one percent and to give me the KBB trade-in value on my wife's '06 Jaguar XKR "Victory Edition" vert with only 34K miles and not low ball me so I have to bother selling it myself.

If he's not happy with the deal it means he will own it for 3-5 years . There is no shortage of Porsche 991 S cars . He may lose an option or two but he could have car today if he really wanted it at a lower price too.

I've got red stitching and leather up the yin yang and wouldn't find that. I'm not unhappy with my deal, just not thrilled with it. It won't take much to make me happier with it, though. I'll see what concessions I can get and if they want this sale to be a home run and never see any future biz from me, that'll be their choice. Otherwise, they'll give me some freebies or at costs and everyone wins.Originally Posted by yrralis1

If you got the car you want and agreed to the price then it's really a done deal. However , if you have second thoughts on it then it begs the question is it really everything you wanted ? Sure it has red stitching but just as important as a red piece of thread is the price . Originally Posted by SanibelSpeed

I realize that dealerships dont give out cars for free but I also feel that mutual satisfaction and positive relationship ought to be the expected outcome of a car purchase (especially at this price level) .
If it isn't .. or if there are doubts .. then the car .. no matter how many cool options or color choices . just isn't worth it . Sometimes it better to buy no car at all than the wrong car (or even the right car at the wrong price) .
A person never loses if he buys nothing and still has his savings in his pocket.
I'm not unhappy. I made the deal without shopping and accept that with equanimity. I don't have buyer's remorse. The extra thousands I might have negotiated won't break me or leave a sour taste in my mouth. I just want to get the dealer to acknowledge that they hit a home run on me and not to be greedy with some dealer-installed options I want and to give me a fair trade-in value. With the feedback I'm getting here I should be able to leverage them to be cooperative with my dealer-installed options. If not, no big deal. It's only money and not a lot to me.
