I Feel Obliged to Look at

). Coming out of decades of anonymous Porsche ownership (since there are so many Porsche dealers in this area), I was hesitant to buy the Audi because it would be seen as ostentatious, like a wannabe Ferrari or Lambo, but haven't found it to be the case. But my love affair with the Audi may be over soon - will be putting a deposit on a GT3. And I think that the new generation Boxster is the only convertible that is as attractive as my v10 spyder, so I will likely pick up one of those, as well.

Thank you all.
I'm not going to lower myself to a level where we go personal, like amerlemans does. He knows nothing about me and I would be pleased if we keep it that way. Clearly not my cup of tea.
People want a discussion about a comparison between two or more cars and that is fine. One can expect that there are people that like the Vette and there are people that don't like the Vette, especially when you start such a discussion in a Porsche forum you can expect negative reactions. The other way around would probably give te same negative reactions about a Porsche. As an enthusiast I'm clearly biased and will defend the car I love, just like other people do with their favoutite brand or car. Nothing wrong with that IMO.
The point is that if I don't like Porsches, I don't go bashing that car in a forum for Porsche owners and enthusiast. I could go and bash the GT-R in the GT-R forum, but why? I'm not as childish as some forum members seem to be. If we all liked the same car and we didn't mind how a car looked, then we would still all drive Ford model T in black.
Now... For me this has been enough BS so let's go back talking about cars please. That's why most of us are here. (Would say everybody, but it seems that's not true).
Cheers!

And please show me where ANYONE bashed the 911 in this thread.
Why is that Joe? Because I have a GT-R and post in other sections on this forum? Pssssst....take a peek at signature.
And nobody bashed the 911 in THIS thread, but YOU did it several times before in OTHER threads!!
I think I should buy you a happy meal... Your maturity level has earned you one. Congrats!
If you read post #4 again, you'll see that I'm not against a discussion between cars, I just prefer it to keep it in one thread, so it is more organized.

I said the car is not the head turner that some think it is. If that is bashing the car in your mind, then so be it. I also said that "SOME" think it looks like an upside down bathtub. For the record, I have owned three 911 variants over the years. So those "SOME" would not include me.
....and then you come back with a personal attack that you so much "won't lower yourself to".

You are happy with your GT-R (at least that's what I hope) and I am happy with my Porsche. In the end we both are car enthusiasts so there is at least ONE thing we have in common... (probably the only thing but that doesn't matter)
As for me, it would be wise if we should bury the hatchet and try to respect eachother a bit more. That applies both for me and for you.
Deal?
Oh and BTW... It was not a personal attack... I made a compliment

just kidding...
The business world is replete with examples of highly successful companies who arrogantly dismissed an upstart competitor. Apple doesn't ignore Samsung as just a different animal.
Regarding the thumbs up I have only had my Porsche for a little over a week but do get quite a few thumbs up or waves from almost anyone in a real nice car.
