do NOT use Meguires brake dust repellant
do NOT use Meguires brake dust repellant
I made that mistake and my wheels are ruined. They are discolored in spots and I can't get it cleaned off. If anyone has a remedy for this let me know. I have tried everything. I think nothing short of repainting the wheels will do.
Ugh! Did you contact Mequires? I would think they have to make good on something ruined by their product. Do you have wheel insurance? Not sure they would cover something like that, but worth a try if you have it. Do you have pictures?
I don't have pics but I will take some and post them. I did contact Meguirs and they were less than helpful and suggested I use rubbing alcohol. I should slap them with a suit but the cost of litigating exceeds the cost of repainting my wheels.
Post your issue on the Meguiars online forum. You will get feedback from readers plus Meguiars reps frequent the forum and will be forced to respond to the issue in public.

I wouldn't use anything on my 991 with the name Meguiars in the first place. I do hope you get your issue resolved.

I always thought they were a top teir brand. Any other suggestions on what company to stick with (I use mothers, is that good?)
But use white vinegar, if that doesnt work then buff it out. You'd be surprised what a buffering tool can do!

I had this problem happen before for painted rims and got the discoloring off..PM me and and I will explain what I did to fix it in my driveway. hopefully it works for you as well..NEVER USED IT AGAIN...but it was fixable for me. So there is hope!! I'll type it up and post it so others can hopefully have the same results.

I like the Mothers VLR and instant detailer. Optimum no rinse is a good wash and wax.
Post your photo and I can better give you a diagnosis. If your wheel is clearcoated, chances are it can be polished. You should consider using P21s Wheel Cleaner or Lumiere All-Natural Wheel Cleaner...they we re developed for cars like Porsches. You don't need harsh chemicals to clean wheels
