Saw the thread wth pics about the SportDesign Side Mirrors the other day and tried to include in a build today. Had to lock/load for the Oct build slot.

Dealer said that option pushed the build out to Dec, so we yanked it to stay on track for Oct.

My thanks to all forum members - the posts really help nail down configuration decisions!

I have the standard mirrors and there has been no issues with them. If you like the look of the sport design, that's a different issue.

im leaning toward the sport design mirrors. I like that "vent" look, especially since im opting out of the sport design kit.

Would be cool if whoever buys and installs them afterwards would post their experiences. Tips/tricks/..etc. I assume, for example, they would come unpainted, so could be an opportunity to do some interesting contrasting colors on the mirrors.

I'm sure I'll be happy with the standard mirrors - at least initially. Now that the order is in all my attention turns to the (Oct) build and (Nov) delivery dates.

I read many are interested in the sport design mirrors because of a problem in HPDE's at speed where there is extensive buffeting in the cabin when a sunroof is not present or cannot be opened (windows down in cars fitted with standard or power folding mirrors). The conjecture is the sport design mirror solves this problem. No experience personally with this yet but first HPDE is next month.

thanks to this thread i have decided to opt in for the sport design mirrors. not only for looks but for the sound buffeting in the cabin. My c2s has a build date for Nov and delivery Jan. I had to push the build date from Oct because the dealer system said its not available till then. My c2s doesnt have a sunroof.

That's consistent with the information I got too.

Man, you're more patient than me. I couldn't stand to wait till then, and pulled the Sport Design mirrors from my order.

Hope the "buffeting" is too severe, but I did include the glass sunroof (attached).

I wonder if it has more to do with his car allotment versus the availability of the actual mirrors.

They probably needed the first batch of mirrors for the 911-50, GT3 and Turbo S these are all in production right now.
