PDK software update...definite change
It says "Update WD09 PDK Control unit software" and "Update WD11 BCM Rear Program". Don't know what the Rear Pgm is for.
Drove it around town for a short while tonight and it shifts completely different in normal and sport. Didn't have the opportunity to get it into sport+ with the wife in the car.

Although I have not experienced the huge hesitation or delay that people have complained about, I thought I would call my dealer and the competing dealers in the area to see about the software update. It is vin number specific and mine did not qualify.
I just took my car in for service. 2013 C2S, December 2012 build and April delivery. He told me there were no updates for my car :-(
Mine doesn't have the "shift request" option in the PCM, so it must be the older version. Did I get shafted by my dealer??

I was at the dealership today and as an aside asked this question as I, too, have an "older" 991 that does not show the shift request line in the PCM. I was told that my car has the most recent update available for the vehicle...told that Porsche frequently cuts in changes on a going forward basis and does NOT typically roll the code backward whether the hardware supports it or not. Further, when a software update is provided based on a service bulletin it is frequently the case that not all the modules are necessarily updated as a full wipe and reload is usually not performed; that would take too long.
I don't have it either after the update, it must be coded in another system.
I haven't notice it either but that arrow in the picture above is so small I doubt I'd see it if I was trying an acceleration run anyway. I'll try it out this morning. January/13 build and update done last month.
I stopped by the dealer today for an un-related item (fault re-set from a goofed smarttop install), but they said WD09 has no shift changing stuff in it. Here's the official text I got from Gunter at Porsche of Fremont:
PDK control unit
Information:
This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles.
A shift rod movement at a shift gate that was not selected can be detected incorrectly on the affected vehicles due to a software error.
As a result, fault code “P1767 – Hydraulic multiplexer fault” can be stored in the fault memory of the PDK control unit and the PDK transmission can switch to the reduced driving programme until the ignition is switched off and on again.
To prevent this from happening, the PDK control unit on the affected vehicles will be re-programmed with an updated data record.
On vehicles with Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (I-no. 221), the updated data record was also used to optimize the adaptation behavior of the rear-differential lock
Are you sure you guys didn't get a different change/update?

Perhaps it is due to the PDK being reset when updated and the transmission relearns your driving style. Since most cars are already broken in, the learning would be more towards greater throttle input and aggressive shifting.
