Myself and a bunch of friends went to a Rally last weekend, it was a lot of fun... on several times we got on open roads and went WOT, the truth is that this 991 beehive like a true supercar.
I have a couple of vids, but this one get my attention the most.

My friend just punch it behind me, it was short one but good. Afterwords he ask me if I had some mods on my 991 hehehe. knowing what the GTR is capable (have a GTR A10 before my 991) I know for sure this 991 is a little under rated in street racing...

Beside this one I have more or less the same results with a 997TT, GTR and a F430 Spyder

I'm sorry, but if both cars are run to their potential, it would really be no contest. Numbers don't lie. This is coming from a Porsche enthusiast.

Of course, you can't really (or responsibly shouldn't !) begin to explore these cars' potential legally and safely on public roads.

That being said, as a pure sports car driven in the real world, it's hard to beat the 991 experience.

 

It's hard to imagine a stock c2s beating a stock GTR in a dragrace.
Circumstances must have been absolutely perfect for the porsche ?

 

Owned both- the vid doesnt show much and thats probably why you didnt get all the posts you were hoping for.

 

I not "hoping" to get any post, I just sharing my experience with the board... I was the first one shock with the vid, its not a matter of numbers because I know what they are... "on the street anything can happen"

 

The GT-R driver wasn't stepping on it, simple as that. A stock GT-R leaves me in the dust with me having a full exhaust, and headers with high-flow cats. While I don't care, it is just reality.

 

Anything can happen like: You in the sweetspot of the rev range putting pedal to the metal, your friend in the GTR surprised, still in topgear at low revs, putting pedal to metal, waiting for downshift and turbos to spool, you taking carlengths in the proces ? Not a fair fight maybe ?
I suggest reversing order. Him in front and you following. Report back what happens ;-)

BTW, not attacking you, I'm a Porsche guy, not a GTR guy, but maybe we should shed a light on the circumstances ?

 

Did you guys see the vid??? Its clear he punch it before than me, and its my friend on the GTR, its not like some guy that I found on the street... He ask me if I have some mods on my car after we run because he knew he punch it before I did.

Maybe he have some problem on his GTR I don't know, but it is what it is

 

Get yourselves side by side with open road ahead and post the results. What I saw was he tried to overtake you before you cut him off, then tried again but couldn't because of a slower car ahead.

 

Yep! On the track, when I see Godzilla in my rear view mirror, whether it is stock or not, I know I'll be giving a point-by shortly thereafter
And that's OK to me too

BTW, I am all for spirited driving, but I would advise to compare car capabilities on a drag strip or a race track for everybody's safety.

 

GTR driver had sand in his eyes and ummm his dog ate the car keys at the end. He could have beat your 991. He let you win. Awe geese. lol

 

Ok I see now... its hard to see something that its "impossible" LOL
