Wipers Stopped Working

Hit the wiper switch this morning on my 2012 C2S cab and nothing. After stopping the car and restarting after 45 minutes nothing. Went to the dealer around noon. They tried to clear the fault code and still no wipers. They are ordering a new wiper motor should be here tomorrow. They wouldn't let me take the car (it's been raining around here today) and got me a rental. Update tomorrow night.

Did you notice anything unusual with the wipers before the problem. I have noticed that mine occasionally self adjust at times. Seems its may have something to do with hooking it up to the battery tender. I barely use the wipers living in the desert.

SA pointed out when going over car that the wipers sit slightly higher when in first on position or rain sensing position. When completely off, they sit down more. I know most probably leave them in the rain sensing position so you don't have to do anything when it starts raining but the wipers will sit slightly higher up on the windshield in this setting.

Got it back today with new motor and all is good. I had no indication anything was about to happen. Yesterday I just hit the stalk to do a single wipe and nothing. Dealer did good though brought in at noon and In 1 and 1/2 hours they had diagnosed the problem and had a car (Volvo rental) and I was out the door. Part was overnighted and picked it up at 5:00 today. Also had my top recoated while it was in and it looks pretty good. Car is 18 months old with 15k.

Shear pin in the wiper linkage probably broke from too much resistance. Does the arm move freely by hand? if so that's the problem. I had it happen to my 2013 Hybrid when too much snow accumulated between the wiper arm and the hood area, the pin snapped (to protect the system). Simple pin replacement by dealer..
