Slight Scratch on door

Any idea what I should do, I got a light white scratch on my door side on my Black 991 Probably from a rock while driving. Should I bring it to a detail place or bring it to an auto body place, And how much you think they would charge me?

It depends on the depth of the scratch. I suggest a high end body shop.

I would go to a good body shop- check with your dealer. The cost would depend on the depth and length of the scratch.

Astoundingly good professional repairs without doing entire panels can be done in a couple hours of skill, science and the dark arts. Usually multistage filling and leveling of the pigment, then progressive wet sanding and polishing, then repeat with clear coat to blend.

That said, more than a few folks I know would get a whole door panel done at nX the price to achieve nirvana.

Completely agree... some scratches are so light that an aggressive cutting polish will sort it out. I would go to a high end detailer and body shop. You will find interesting what both would recommend. Choice at the end of the day is yours...

I was the same way when I first got my car. For about 3 months. This will happen more and more. There is just no way you can fix every chip, every scratch. I say, if it is a light scratch that can be polish/buffed out, get it taken care of. If it requires re-painting, I don't think it is worth it.

Try Meguires ScratchX. Worked wonders on my car for some light scratches.

LOL ... I bought the kit from ebay for $60, I also bought 3m Wrap gloss black 2080. I will use the kit as my template and cut it out. My Pan4s is 2014 now, so I lost a motivation to replace the 4 panels.Look great with wrapper.

took my 2016 pan4 to bodyshop to paint the 4 panels with body color - black metalic 2 mos ago, they look fantastic for $300 cash, plus complete car details .worry free for years. Porsche took care 1 driver side in 2019 under warranty, the other 2 on the passenger start peeling. No more 3M ... The bodyshop is slow they need customers ...

I have one like that one my rear fender, You barely see it but it is through the paint to the primer and won't rust. A high end body shop my Porsche dealer uses says it would cost about 75 bucks and they will wet sand it. They also said if I traded it I won't get charged by the dealership. I have chosen to just let it be.

Anyway I would NOT use a detail shop. If you fix it go to wherever your Porsche dealer goes for bodywork.

Good luck.
