Clutch sticking

Just was Sunday driving when I went to accelerate from a stop quickly and the clutch stuck half way in. I didn't realize it didn't fully disengage right away. Pushed it back in again and it was still stuck. Went back into neutral then to first and it came out. I only accelerated a little thank god but I still could smell the burnt smell from the clutch. Has anyone else had this happen? Hopefully it's just a fluke incident. Hopefully my clutch is ok. I was in sport plus in my 7mt

I have about 7k on my 7 speed and have not had that happen. Been perfect from day 1. Hopefully it was a fluke event for you!

Things always happen for a reason, especially mechanical... I've never torn apart a 911 clutch linkage, but I have a lot of older generation non p cars.. And binding linkages always concern me..

but something is binding in either the linkage or in the transmission itself.. I'd take it seriously and get it looked at..

How old/miles do you have?

Check this thread: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ml#post3840037

Also, I remember another thread where someone had to lift the clutch off the floorboard for some reason. I didn't find it in a search for clutch and floor, but if you search just clutch or MT you might find it. I remember it in this very forum.

My car is 2014 with 5000 km's on the clock. I was going to wait and see if it happened again. The closest dealership is about 40 min from me. Is it possible it was just a one time occurance or is this a serious issue?

My car didn't jump up to high rpm's like in the other thread. It was just half stuck, so when I tried to accelerate it just crept forward. Like I was ridding the clutch. I was lucky that I noticed it right away

Hey Lebreeze,

Sorry to hear about the problem you had. My car has approx 10k on the dial and has given me zero problems with regards to the clutch. Running really well.....let us know how things turn out.

Zero clutch issues here also in over a year - let us know how it turns out. Best wishes man.

Probably not a one time occurance, and hopefully not a serious problem, BUT I suggest you're being penny wise and pound foolish if you feel too put out to drive the 40 miles and get it fully checked out now.

yeah, I completely agree... there is stuff to put off getting looked at.. power/engine trane is probably not one of them..

Granted they will probably not take it seriously if it isn't easily re-creatable.. But at least when/if something happens later you have it documented that there were symptoms of the problem when the car was relatively new..

I talked to my S.A at the dealer he think it was a glitch in the hill assist even though I was on flat ground. I will go see the dealer next week. I will drive easy until I get it looked at. Thanks for the help guys. I hoping it was nothing.

I went for about a 35 minute drive after work. Everything seemed fine. Car was sounding awesome in the cold air. About 45 degrees outside. I'm still going to get it checked out at the dealer next week. Just picked up a new iPhone 1st pic
