Mine is louder, but they all made the ticking sound. I definitely did not hear the ticking sound when I drove it during euro delivery (mild summer weather and had the windows down frequently.)
Colder weather conditions increase the volume of the ticking (and the humming). We had some cold mornings in SoCal a few weeks ago; the ticking sound coming from my car was much, much louder than it had ever been. I think you're good to go.

Not sure about this motor. But past 911 motors were know to have a metallic clicking or clanking noise on cold startup and was identified by many knowledgeable gearheads as noisy chain tensioners.

Right on. The humming was gone after a bit of driving. The ticking is just so dang noticable with the cabin so much quieter than previous 911's.
