Scratch removal

As I walked out to my car last Thursday afternoon, I immediately noticed that someone had hit my side view mirror and drivers door while backing out from the spot next to me. The mirror had clear defense on it so it's an easy fix, but as I cleaned the driver's door, I noticed very fine surface scratches on one section. I got out about 60% with clay, another 10% with light rubbing compound. Then went over it with polish/wax. Now I only see it when I look off angle in the sun. I can't feel any scratches.

I now its now in the **** phase of me just knowing it exists but I AM **** about how this car looks. Anyone have any other tricks to try to remove the residual without damaging my basalt black finish?

Try buffing it out with a buffer and Menzerna polish. It should come out and look like new.

This might be one of those times that if you have to ask the question you should not attempt the repair. Or you should at least be very careful what you are doing.

Make sure you use a good machine and at least look at several videos on how to do this. Adams has good videos online on how to use all of their products and there are quite few others if you google machine polishing a Porsche or any other high end car.

You can easily destroy your paint if you don't know what you are doing but any intelligent **** person with some care can learn this fairly quickly. I have 3 levels of polish and always start with the least abrasive and move on to something more abrasive until I find what works. That way I am not taking anymore finish off the car then I have to.
