Pic of Standard Door Sills...

Making my final tweaks before my order is locked..

I've been debating the door sills.. For a while I thought I wanted the illuminated alum.. and was planning to install them aftermarket, but after some discussion it looks like the wiring will be a pain.. so aftermarket is probably out.. and having a hard time justifying $900 to myself for them.. was thinking of just the alum as well.

But I'm starting to question if I care at all.. And then I realized I don't even remember what the standard sills look like.. Trying to get things locked and don't have time to get out tot he dealer for a few days to look.

So does anyone have a decent pic of the standard 991 door sill. Strangely when I search on line I can't seem to find, or can't be sure what the standard looks like..

Thanks in advance..

Try this: Go to "Google Images" and key in "911 Carrera door sill".

Here's a pic of your standard sill.
Don't waste your money on this silly option (sorry I simply couldn't resist the pun).
Add something more worthwhile if you really HAVE to spend the extra $$$

They do look cool. But only for the 10 seconds before you shut the door and hide them. I spent the money on other options.

Is that the standard sill ($0)or the aluminum non illuminated($300)? If it is the standard it doesn't look bad.

Yeah, already did that. But the problem is I get a mix of things and can't tell what is standard, what is the aluminum (I can tell illuminated aluminum). And there seems to be a mix of models..

Thus the question of what the standard (non-option) sill looks like ..

Well, that's exactly what I have on my car and I did not order anything other than the standard sill.

Perhaps the factory made a mistake in my case, which I highly doubt.

That's the standard. Looks fine. Aluminum is longer/larger. I thought the online configurator has pretty good pictures of the different sills.

Nope nothing but text in the configurator now. The 3D view doesn't show them either.

Ok, yes that was what I was expecting for the illuminated and non-illuminated aluminum..

The standard looks just fine to me..

Yeah I can see that it is different from the option version.. I saw this in pics but it looks like aluminum so I wasn't sure in the pics if this was on maybe a 997...

Final question, is the silvery logo yours (the standard) aluminum or is it just plastic?

Mine "feels" like brushed aluminum.
The actual letters are sunken (embossed) and are polished.
Hope this helps...

These plates are such a non-entity, that I hadn't noticed half the details until your post.

I think placing the illuminated order just may catch the factory off guard.

Yes very helpful thank you! I think I'm gonna pass on this option.... The standard looks fine.. The illuminated look kinda cool... but yeah kind of a waste..

The aluminum (non illum) can be easily added later and cheaper from suncoast.. (although the illuminated is a PIA to get wired from what I have read).

Actually you may be right.. In another thread someone was saying how just the aluminum was going to cause a build delay..
