Anyone have access to dealership computer....
Hi everyone,
My dealer has been very unresponsive to check on the status of my car lately. I've had other issues with them on my deal (notably changing the price https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ld-you-do.html). It's been almost 2 weeks since we agreed on the "new deal" and I submitted the Credit App the next day to finalize the deal and since then, they have been uninterested and unresponsive to my requests. All I want to know is a) has my car left port and b) are we all set with Porsche Financial (mostly, I don't want them trying to jack me on the MF with some BS at the last minute). I have top tier credit and plenty of income/debt ratio, but I just don't trust them to give me the best rate.
I asked almost a week ago for an update on my financing and the car's shipping status. After 3 days I wrote again to see if they heard anything and a couple days later I got "I'll let you know when I have updates" It's been 3 days now and nothing. I know it takes all of 5 minutes to log in and check the status of my car and if they submitted my credit app (I submitted 2 weeks ago), they already have the answer there too. I won't ask them anymore, I feel like a nagging girlfriend
I'm getting pretty annoyed and ready to walk if there's any more nonsense. I'm getting a little burnt out on the whole deal and thinking about passing on a P-car altogether. There's nothing else jumping out at me in the marketplace at this time and the thought of starting all over on another ordered 911 at another dealer is sickening, I just don't have the patience or time.
So, by any chance, can anyone check on the status of my car? If so, PM me and I'll give you the VIN.
Thanks!

I would go an see the head of the dealership and deal with him.
If he doesn't get you any answers or is also disinterested, then it's up to you to decide the next step.
Perhaps PCNA can assist with the status of your car, but I really don't know.

I'll check with PCNA tomorrow morning, they should be able to get the status of my car, but who knows what rules are in place. Still find it annoying that the car can't be tracked via VIN like my MB was. I know the dealers have better things to do, but I want to know when it is coming.
My car was finished and at port the last week in October (10/24-25 ish) and there has been 2 boats that left Emden since then. It's likely on one of those boats and could be here or due to arrive this week. My dealer is less than an hour away from the port, so it could be eminent and I'd like to know, I think that's normal, right?

I'd get out of that Porsche Dealership and that car deal as soon as I could. They should be treating you like you are made of gold. It takes my salesman no more than an hour or two to answer any email I have ever sent. I sent an email question about my car today, and it was my salesman's day off, so he called into work, got an associate on the computer, and had me an answer right away.
If they treat you like you don't matter before you get the car, just think how they will treat you after they have your money. There has to be several Porsche Dealers in your area of New England you can deal with.
You deserve better than what they are giving you.

Who would have thought getting into a $126k car would be so difficult, haha. Tough problem to have, I guess.
No. Don't cancel out. This is what you'll be missing out on... (note: not my vehicle. but mine looks just like it)

Wow that is a tough one. I would:
1. Go in and person and get answers then and there.
If that does not yield success I would walk from the deal and order it somewhere else. When you purchase a porsche the treatment and car from the dealer should be nothing short of exceptional.
If this is how they treat you now-what happens when something goes wrong with the car.
BS

My salesman would call/email me with updates without even asking.
The fact that you are having to turn to the boards for help says it all....
I would have aced them when they first gave me problems.
Just relax, if you are getting an aggressive deal that is all that matter. The car will arrive at port and the dealer will deliver to you sooner than you think ! After all, they only get pay with delivery. It is against their interest to cause you intentional delay. Frustration will only make matter worse. And they will win bigger time.
haha, I hear you. I'm dealing with both the GM and Sales Manager (I was referred to them by my contacts at their sister MB store). I know the GM and SM have a variety of things to do (or they better), so I give them some leeway vs a standard salesman. I'm getting a very aggressive deal, so maybe they feel like they can't put too much time into my deal?? Could be other stuff at play, I just don't know. If this deal goes south, I may just wait until Spring at this point. Maybe look into to other marques, don't know. I want this 911S the way it is spec'd I would take a similarly spec'd car, but they don't exist and I can't wait to order another one (and risk the same BS).

The best of luck to you, whatever you do. If you need the name of a great Porsche Dealer now or in the future, just LMK and I'll give you the name of a salesman that will treat you like the valuable customer you really are. They get folks from all over the country buying from them.

We always want to know who the best dealers are.
Sorry to hear about your problems. It sounds like you are just working with the wrong dealer. For the 3 cars that I have ordered from mine they have been great! Anytime there was an update on the PCNA computer system, I got an email. If you are not happy with the deal or the dealer and you will not lose any money, you can always walk away. You may be able to get another dealer to get that car for you. As it will now be an ordered car on the lot without a customer, they may be willing to give it up to another dealer just to get it off the lot.
This may be slightly off-topic so my apologies.
Much debate has taken place on this forum about discounts and "great deals" that one should push for. My approach to most things I buy are that a transaction has to be worthwhile and pleasant for all parties. I wonder if that has anything to do with your current issues?
You mention that you got an aggressive deal. If you now take into account the hassle you've had with the transaction and time spent, was/is the deal worth it?
Alternatively, maybe the universe is sending you a message!

However, I always try to get the most aggressive deal on any and everything I buy (for negotiable things, of course). Partly because it's just who I am and how I grew up. I grew up in a family business and now own that business and I take the following approach:
The money I save by negotiating is no different than working for and earning the same amount of money through my job. The net effect is the same, therefore, I treat situations where I can save money no different than situations where I can earn more money. Give me an opportunity to save or earn money and i'll take it! And I'm someone who works very hard for my money and it's a direct coorelation between how much I hustle and how much I get rewarded for that hussel. I'm not a salaried professional (doctor or lawyer). I'm a business man and I can make as much or as little as I want depending on how much I want it.
Anyway, I understand your point about a mutually beneficial deal, I can trust that the dealer (who does hundreds of deals each year) knows what deal is good or not for them. Are they making a little less on my deal vs so done who doesn't negotiate quite as much? Yes, but that shouldn't mean I get substandard service (a little less than a full paying customer, sure, I'll take that deal). Are they still making a nice profit from my deal? Yes. I'm letting them overcharge me on the MF a little and they're still making over $2k on the car itself. If they're not happy making $4-5k on a sale than that's their problem, not mine.
Plus, if it were me, I'd try to foster a good relationship with my customer, whatever it takes, and know they're a customer for life and will service their vehicle with me, etc. In the long run, they'll make all that money back and then some. Come to think of it, this is exactly how I run my business and it seems to work just fine.

Cars have been a negotiable commodity forever and as long as the game is still played, I will do my best to save every dollar I can!
Cheers.
