Another 991 Front License Plate Question
I just ordered this one from Rho-Plate:

It's similar to the one on the first page but only $60.

I worry about the value of my car because the factory punched holes in the rear valence for a license plate holder. It's centered, right in the middle, but I still think the car would look better without any rear plate at all.
I had magnets mounted behind the bumper and on the license plate holder.
I definitely will not drive with the front plate mounted this way but it is perfect for when the car is parked in the street which is anyway the only time I received no front plate tickets in NYC.

I've seen old cars and SUVs without holes ever drilled in to front bumper yet folks get bullied (especially with nicer cars) to put front license plate. Is it optional or real deal to put front license plate in California? I lived in Michigan with no front plate and then Texas both needed but kinda confusing here!
As soon as I say that I'm sure someone is going to jump up and down and say the have or have seen people ticketed it all the time here .. But where I am in so cal (orange county and la county) it has never happened to me and I've been driving here since 1977... ( usually without front plates)..
I've even been pulled over for not having latest reg tags on a car... The highway patrol walked to the front of my car to get my license plate number.. Saw I didn't have one and walked to the back so he could write it down and still not a word about the plate...
Why? No clue except I would imagine they feel front plates have little real Leo value... They always pull you over from behind, and all of the toll way and traffic cameras get your rear plate.. So only real reason to pull you over would be to hassle you..
It could be just that there are plenty of other things to write tickets for.. Not to hard to write speeding tickets that result in $200+ in revenue... A missing plate is just a fix it ticket.. With no points.. So I have a suspicion it is just economics of law enforcement.. Maybe if it becomes a $200 ticket here it will change..
But in some cities they generate revenue on it.. City of la must have 100000 meter maids writing tickets...used to get 1 or 2 a year at the airport.. If I had to park in big cities on the street I know it would be a bigger problem but I rarely park in public patrolled places.. Other than the airport..
