Another 991 Front License Plate Question

I got a warning ticket yesterday for not having a front license plate. In view of the fact that Texas keeps a record of warning tickets which is readily available to officers when you are stopped and a new law in Texas which makes the no front plate law enforceable, I think I better mount my plate.

After a search, I found this online and wonder if it will work OK on my 2013 911 Carrera.
Amazon.com: Bell Automotive 22-1-46230-8 Adjustable Mounting Bracket for License Plate Frame: Automotive Amazon.com: Bell Automotive 22-1-46230-8 Adjustable Mounting Bracket for License Plate Frame: Automotive
From the reviews, it appears that the bracket does have rust problems but a little paint should fix that.

Have any of you tried this bracket or have any thoughts on if it will work on a 991?

I found out about it from a post here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=378549

Thanks,

Billy

Have you seen this one?
It mounts to the Tow Hook attachment point.

Pun intended...

Also You may want to check and look for a hide away plate thats what I use.
Works great, if a cop ever says anything i just pull it up.

I am curious how many times has the "I forgot to pull it up" comment saved you a ticket because quite honestly if I were the officer I would give you two tickets. One for no plate and one for insulting my intelligence.

That's why the powered one seems like it would work better. I get pulled over I can just hit the button. My only concern would be how it would handle at high speeds and over speed bumps, etc.

I really don't know how a police officer thinks but I might just laugh at the cleverness of the powered one.

That's honestly a good point. If the cop is smart enough to realize that the plate wasn't there, he's probably smart enough to peek underneath the bumper and see the hardware.

Is that tow hook one of center? That would kill the look of the car imo.

Yes, of course it is. Tow hook is way off center. Better than drilling the bumper in my opinion.

I use the one from US Mill Works LLC. It is attached using the tow hook opening. It is off-centered but a small price to pay for a very high quality plate holder and no drill holes in your bumper.

I think the license plate holder is probably the best option. I don't think that hide-away-plate would work very well on our cars. I'm already scraping my front lip all the time coming in and out of driveways, there isn't enough room for that to be mounted underneath the car.

Cool Green eggs and ham Sam I am...

The Automatic one on the Mustang Leaves a bit to be desired since one would have to carry along a passenger to flip it up or down...

All Kidding aside, I could not, would not, not in the rain, or on my way to Spain, use that contraption on any vehicle I owned...

The Tow Hook in my opinion is the best idea yet.
