The comfort of ownership...
Now that winter is starting to rear it's ugly head over most areas of the country, many of you will put your beloved Porsche away (mostly away) for the winter. I am fortunate that living in Florida I can use the car virtually year round. There are some days however, when the wind and rain make me reluctant to use the car especially if I just detailed it the day before.
Most of us have other cars that can substitute for a DD if the weather is foul. I was thinking that it is comforting just knowing that the Porsche is safely stowed away in the garage, away from the elements. No matter how bad the "beater" is that you used to get to work, the idea that your toy is tucked away safely is very comforting.
For those that are in an area of the country where the winter weather is really awful and the Porsche doesn't see daylight for several months, I hope that thought of it tucked away brings you the comfort of mind to last you through the winter.
Just some rambling thoughts....

Haku - did not know you picked up your GT3 - what are you impressions, unless you already posted and I missed it. Congrats BTW.

Sold it due to me having an encounter with a deer on my motorcycle. Broke many things, recovery took many months, could not drive the car during that time and it was agony just seeing it sitting in the garage. So I bid it adios!
I am now fully recovered and ready for another GT3 fix! My allocation is confirmed but the build won't start for a few months yet.

You mean 997.2 GT3? Dead giveaway is the tail lights.
Sorry my mistake and typo. The other giveaway is that there is no 991.2 yet! Hehehe.
I had a 997.2 GT3 and I have on order a 991GT3. Clear now I hope! Phew!

We have a 997.2 4S that's my wife's daily driver. The snow tires are going on next week, and it'll be driven in any weather other than really deep snow. We also have my 991 S Cab that I'll drive all winter as long as it's not snowing (no snow tires on it). We bought our cars to drive, and drive them we will!
Woof!
I fully intend on driving my 991TT in all kinds of nasty winter weather when I get it (still on track for 1/3 delivery), but that may not happen for the reasons you mention, lol. I hope I can stay strong, though, and not resort to using the S6 for most of the winter.

Awesome reply!
