Is it getting more powerful??

There's 27k on my 3.4L PDK coupe and over the past 5k or so I have noticed that the car seems more powerful than before. Not sure whether this is due to the last software update or perhaps the engine is now fully broken in. Nevertheless, it's seems scary fast now and I like it.

That's great news! Which software update are you referring to? The PDK update? If so, what are you noticing regarding the transmission? Mine gets updated tomorrow!

Did you just wash the car? My cars always feel faster after a good cleaning.

Colder weather, denser air-fuel mixture, more oomph, less MPG.

I tend to drive harder when it's dirty

It's likely the cold weather as others have stated. Like you, those of us here in Houston greatly enjoy the cooler temps and the significant power difference from 90+humidity to mid 50s...of course even cooler for you. May want to keep all the electric safety modes on.

Funny you should say that, I've always noticed that my car is much faster when it's just been cleaned.

While I really like the concept of clean car equals faster and more powerful car - which is something I can tell my wife when she catches me washing the car at near freezing temperatures - I'm thinking that the colder and denser air is responsible for the monstrous performance I've experienced lately from the car. It makes sense. Then again, a clean car always looks fast.
