Do You Carry A Gun In Your 991? DIY Secure Mount.
Myself... no friends murdered, none beaten unconscious, none robbed at knife point.
Are you complaining or bragging? Not trying to be a smart ****, just trying to find your "angle"...Be careful out there!
Just saying for every 'reason' to carry, there's also a 'reason' not too.
yup, listen no matter how careful you are bad things can happen, those small people who hate the firearm delude themselves, thinking that their job, where they live or who they are protects them. Its just a tool, anyway, try putting your pistol in a holster, slide it between the left side of the drivers seat and the door sill, its easy to access and directly visible when the door is shut
Practice -- Practice -- and more Practice is the key to coming out ahead in a gunfight. And I don't mean just with the weapon. People need to remain vigilant, regardless of how safe they believe their neighborhood may be.
Some people are great shots at the range but are actually walking targets in the "real" world. If a person isn't cognoscente of their surroundings at all times, then a house may just fall on them at the most inopportune time. Regardless of their IQ's, a large percentage of the predators know an easy target when they see one.
I survived several gunfights while working undercover with the NYPD and it never came down to the fast draw; it was always a matter of having my weapon ready at the right time.
Some people despise guns and feel that they shouldn't be available to lawful citizens. Each and every time I had to use a gun or a rifle in the line of duty, innocent people were saved. Ask any of them what they now think about firearms.
Let me get back to the practical side. I've been searching for the perfect concealable holster for the last forty years. Ironically, now that I'm retired, I found the holster that does it all for me:

Here is a picture of the holster I've been using with my new Glock 27: no clasps, hooks or Velcro straps and it stays put.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

My father always had gun in his car for protection and I followed his footsteps. I had a gun in every car that I had and I had to get creative with my Porsche. I didn't want to just put a gun in the car because it is ugly so I installed a magnet under my seat and my gun is always there. I feel much better with having it close to me. Me and my father go hunting a lot and he told me to get this really good night vision scope. I tried it on his rifle and it is a game changer. Making a shot with that scope is much easier. I have already purchased one from their website and I can't wait to go hunting with it.

(I'm happy I got my 911 when I did and really shouldn't have waited so long to expand my gun collection beyond just the Mauser.)
The Viking is right. As a career LE professional (Fairfax County, VA PD, Indiana Gaming Commission Investigator, and NCIS SA, 21 yrs), I have some experience (I think) to add....BEST option - keep the gun on your person (in a car, you'll need to find that "sweet spot" where it will be comfortable on your waist area but also easy to access immediately if necessary). Second Best: get a Ruger LCP .380 and park it in your driver's door pocket. Cover it up with an eyeglass cloth or similar (assuming you have a valid State-issued Concealed Weapons permit). Then you will need to practice deploying it. If you don't, you will not have the necessary 'muscle memory' required to draw it when you most need it.
My Two Cents.
My Two Cents.
driving for 52 years.
no weapon ever in the car.
never needed one.
I know, you're finding that hard to believe.
it's true, an it's totally unbelievable that I am still alive.
if someone want's the car, my wallet, watch, wedding ring as well as my little orphan Annie secret decoder ring, they can have them.
I'm not killing anyone over stuff, my property is heavily insured and I don't want some prosecutor second guessing my actions when someone ends up with an extra hole
